Chapter 958: Chapter 964: Won’t Save for Nothing

"If it wasn’t for our past relationship, I wouldn’t bother saving you. But even that can be exhausted, and when that day comes, we will be strangers," Ye Ranran said with difficulty as she struggled.

Song Ze’s behavior was indeed outrageous, but she truly couldn’t just leave him be.

Ye Ranran had always acted on impulse. If she couldn’t let go, she might as well save him to avoid any regrets.

But being a good person really wasn’t easy.

By the time Ye Ranran dragged Song Ze to the road, she was completely drained.

Her clothes were covered in dust, and she was filthy, looking as though she had just crawled out of the ground.

Perhaps even the heavens thought she was a pitiful sight, and it started to rain.

The rain, neither too heavy nor too light, blurred her vision and chased away the last bit of warmth from her already cold body.

Ye Ranran bit her lip so hard that she tasted blood, which kept her from fainting.

She stood in front of Song Ze, her eyes wide, staring ahead.

With no strength left, she couldn’t walk anymore. She could only hope that a car would pass by and that someone would come to their rescue.

Perhaps the heavens had heard her prayers, as a car did appear ahead.

Ye Ranran abruptly stood up, but the suddenness made her dizzy and she fell down again.

She lay on top of Song Ze, and his hand, which hung down, hit her face.

"Slap." The sound of the slap was especially clear, and it jolted Ye Ranran back to consciousness.

She pushed Song Ze’s hand away, stood up again, swayed a little, and fell down again.

Seeing the car approaching, Ye Ranran didn’t think twice and crawled toward it, waving her hands desperately.

"Screech." The sound of the brakes came.

"Who’s there?" A crisp and pleasant voice asked from inside the car.

Ye Ranran crawled to the car door, grabbed the handle, and stood up. She knocked on the window, "Help, help us, please. My brother and I are being chased by bad guys."

The window rolled down, revealing a face more beautiful than a lotus bloom, with chestnut curls draped over her shoulders and large, phoenix eyes looking down at Ye Ranran with disdain.

"Don’t worry, we won’t be saved for nothing," Ye Ranran emphasized.

The beauty didn’t respond, and Ye Ranran grew anxious, "How about this, let me use your phone to call my family. They’ll come to pick me up."

"You said you have a brother?" The beauty looked outside.

Ye Ranran slightly turned and pointed at Song Ze not far away, "Yes, over there."

As soon as the beauty saw Song Ze, she instantly opened the car door. Ye Ranran, caught off guard, was pushed aside.

"It’s really him." The beauty, shocked to see Song Ze, helped him into the car.

Looking at Ye Ranran struggling on the ground, her eyebrows fierce, she said, "You just said that person is your brother? I have never heard that he has a sister."

So they knew each other. Maybe she was Song Ze’s old flame or perhaps an ex-lover or something.

"What? You doubt me? Then why not wait for him to wake up and ask him?" Ye Ranran said through gritted teeth.

She was barely holding on, dizziness was washing over her in waves, and she was likely to faint soon.

The beauty said no more but gestured with her mouth, "Get in."

Ye Ranran scrambled into the car on all fours. Before she could sit properly, everything went black, and she passed out completely.

Just after the car had vanished, Jun Mochan arrived.

He didn’t bother with an umbrella and ran directly into the bushes.

The bloodstains had been washed away by the rain, leaving only drag marks.

Jun Mochan clenched his fists, his eyes gleaming with a cold light, and without saying a word, turned and headed back to his car.
