Chapter 953: Chapter 959: Supervising Her
Can’t she manage even this little thing?
"I’m too tired today, let’s do it tomorrow. If it withers, I’ll buy you another bunch, okay?" Jun Mochan softened his tone.
Ye Ranran nodded.
After lying down, Ye Ranran snuggled into Jun Mochan’s arms. Since he had returned from his disappearance, he had become much more restrained and no longer demanded from her uncontrollably.
So, occasionally at night, the two of them could chat and share their thoughts.
Ye Ranran liked this because there were other things a married couple could do besides that sort of thing.
"Has there been any movement from the Song Family lately?" He had caused them such a huge loss; they had no reason to remain inactive.
"Does madam know something?" The darkness hid Jun Mochan’s expression, but Ye Ranran still felt a sharp gaze on her.
"What should I know? I just asked casually. With so many things happening recently, I just thought it was unrest and asked," Ye Ranran said softly.
There wasn’t much emotion in her tone.
"Madam only needs to know that I can handle those things. You’re starting work tomorrow, and I can allow you to go." The implication was that if he didn’t allow it, she shouldn’t get too involved.
Understanding his meaning, Ye Ranran laid her head on his chest and gently closed her eyes. "Okay, if you feel like talking, I don’t mind being your listener."
Because she didn’t want him to keep everything bottled up inside.
But she also knew that Jun Mochan wouldn’t talk.
On her first day back at work, Jun Mochan dropped Ye Ranran off at the company’s entrance.
At the office, Ye Ranran encountered many acquaintances.
"Ranran." Upon seeing her, Che Hao wanted to give her a big hug, but One blocked in front of Ye Ranran.
Ye Ranran smiled, "That’s too enthusiastic for me to handle."
"Stingy," Che Hao backed off.
Ye Ranran stepped forward and briefly hugged him, then quickly let go, "Long time no see, old friend."
She hadn’t interacted with Che Hao much, but it wasn’t little either. After working on two films together, they had grown quite familiar, and later he took good care of Luo Qi.
Either way, she owed him thanks.
Thinking of Luo Qi, a hint of longing flashed in Ye Ranran’s eyes, but it quickly faded.
The job advertisement had already been sent out, but finding someone satisfactory was not easy.
Fortunately, Ye Ranran was not in a hurry. If she was alone, so be it. The costumes were already prepared, and the film crew had a wardrobe master, so her workload wasn’t big.
"Ranran." When Xue Xue saw her, she also came over to say hello.
She was a bit cold but polite nonetheless.
"Xue." Ye Ranran exchanged pleasantries with her, keeping it neither warm nor too cold to avoid awkwardness.
The group had a brief chat until the car arrived. Ye Ranran was taking public transportation, and both Che Hao and Xue Xue, feeling somewhat embarrassed, squeezed into one car with her.
One naturally sat beside Ye Ranran.
Even if others wanted to cozy up, seeing his icy expression made them silently retreat.
Ye Ranran looked down and drew on a piece of paper, while One held her laptop.
The accounts hadn’t been settled yet; she planned to calculate them when she had time.
All in all, Ye Ranran was very busy.
The drive from the city area to the suburban film city took exactly three hours. Two hours into the journey, One snatched the pen from Ye Ranran’s hand.
"I just had inspiration," Ye Ranran complained.
"The young master said, ’Two hours work, rest for half an hour’," One repeated Jun Mochan’s words.
"It seems you’re here to supervise me," complained Ye Ranran.
