Chapter 952: Chapter 958: Something’s Not Right
He simply took her into consideration, knowing that her hand was inconvenient, and holding her on his lap was only to make it easier for him to grasp her hand to prevent her from exerting force.
But his warm breath enveloped her, requiring her utmost effort to maintain her composure.
"Do you understand now?" After explaining, Jun Mochan asked beside Ye Ranran’s ear.
"Understood," Ye Ranran nearly lost her balance.
She felt that he must be doing it on purpose.
"Why is madam’s face red again?" Jun Mochan looked on with interest.
Ye Ranran ignored him and left with her laptop.
Jun Mochan didn’t follow her upstairs; instead, he took out his phone and called Zhou Xian.
"Is there any movement from the Song Family?"
Zhou Xian, staring at the computer and leaning back in his chair after entering a number, replied, "Not at the moment, I’m monitoring them."
One had infiltrated their system, exposing every move and every word they made under his watchful eye.
Jun Mochan, however, felt an indistinct unease but couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was amiss.
"It’s so late, are you willing to neglect Ranran just for me?" Zhou Xian teased him.
Jun Mochan didn’t respond but abruptly hung up the phone.
Zhou Xian tossed his phone aside carelessly, indifferent to Jun Mochan’s attitude.
Jun Mochan returned to his room and found Ye Ranran arranging the bouquet of roses he had given her.
She placed the flowers on the table and sat on a chair with her legs together in a perfect posture. Holding the shears, she snipped at the base of the flower stems.
What was an easy task for others proved somewhat difficult for her, failing to succeed after several attempts.
But she wasn’t discouraged. She shook her hands out and continued snipping.
Many times, Jun Mochan loved her persistence, but he also detested it.
"Don’t you need your hands?" Jun Mochan snatched the shears from her hand just as she was about to cut again.
Ye Ranran was a bit flustered, with a trace of panic in her eyes; she hadn’t expected him to come up so suddenly.
"Did you learn what I taught you just now?" Jun Mochan played with the scissors in his hand, his gaze turning from gentle to as cold as ice.
"I didn’t use much strength," Ye Ranran explained in a soft voice.
"How much strength can you use?" Jun Mochan grasped her hand: "Why don’t you try carrying a bucket of water upstairs?"
Knowing he was angry, Ye Ranran hung her head silently, like a child listening to a scolding after doing something wrong.
"Why aren’t you speaking?" Jun Mochan’s dark eyes seemed to be suppressing something.
Ye Ranran gently hooked her fingers around his hand: "Really, it’s nothing. It’s just cutting a couple of flowers; you don’t need to be nervous."
"This afternoon, when I saw the pen slipping from your palm, do you know how I felt?" For the first time, he felt powerless.
She was fine before she was with him, so how did she become half-disabled now?
If it weren’t for being with him, she wouldn’t have to painstakingly build any damned power, nor would she have to endure those unnecessary criticisms.
"You’re a designer, Ranran. Do you know how important your hands are to you?" The hand is the designer’s soul; if she lost her soul, how could she chase her dreams?
Even with the advancements in medicine, they can’t give her a pair of intact hands, which pains him the most.
As she said, some wounds heal, but scars can never be fully erased; facts are facts.
No amount of cover-up can change the facts.
Ye Ranran looked at the roses he had given her: "I just wanted to take care of it, I wasn’t planning to do anything else."
