Chapter 947: Chapter 944: Not Relying on Looks to Make a Living
Song Ze naturally didn’t want anyone else to know about such an embarrassing incident, so he went to a hospital by himself. Unfortunately, he ran into Ye Ranran.
"I say, you woman, why do you always linger like a bad spirit? Wherever I go, I bump into you. You couldn’t possibly have taken a liking to me, could you?" Song Ze took hold of Ye Ranran’s chin, teasing her intentionally.
Ye Ranran chuckled, subtly brushing his hand away: "Song Ze, you really are too full of yourself. Besides that hospital visit a month ago, we haven’t met since. If you say you’ve seen me, could it be that you’ve been secretly watching me?"
"Here I am today, and coincidentally, you happen to be here too. You couldn’t have known in advance, could you?"
Ye Ranran kicked the ball back to Song Ze.
Song Ze’s smile was as bright as the high sun, dazzling and unattainable: "Yes, I have taken a liking to you. Would the lady be willing to share a spring breeze with me?"
"You know to call me ’lady.’ My husband is more than enough for me; why would I need to find you? And..." Ye Ranran leaned in close, patted his body where there was no dust, and sniffed his scent, "you still smell so bad."
She looked down slightly and noticed the prescription in his hand. The doctor’s handwriting was messy, but she happened to understand those few words.
"It seems you’ve damaged your handsome face by falling into some smelly place. Though you don’t rely on your looks to make a living, you should still take care of them. Otherwise, if they get ruined one day and scare me, that wouldn’t be good."
Trying to change the subject depended on whether she wanted to or not.
Having said this, she didn’t wait for Song Ze’s reaction and left arrogantly.
High heels clicking on the floor resounded ’thud, thud,’ like knocking on someone’s heart.
Song Ze found that she really loved wearing high heels. It might not be about love; it was probably just habit.
Flat shoes always lacked that bit of impact, that touch of charm.
But at home, it didn’t seem to be the case.
No sooner had this thought appeared than Song Ze felt he was going crazy. He hadn’t interacted with her nor seen her private side. How could he know what she was like at home?
He decided he must be going mad, shook his head, and walked in the opposite direction.
After looking around and not finding Ye Ranran, who was searching for Jun Mochan, he returned to the ward dispirited and was quite surprised to find that Jun Mochan was back.
"Where have you been?" Jun Mochan was about to call her when he saw her return, quickly moving to greet her.
He surveyed her with a calm gaze to see if she was alright, and then extended his hand to embrace her: "I saw the lunchbox on the table but didn’t see you. I was a bit worried."
"Worried about what? I’m not a child; how could I just disappear?" Ye Ranran teased him: "And I haven’t even asked you yet. Why weren’t you here when I arrived?"
"I took Grandpa out and went to buy some food. If I had known you were coming at this time, I would have waited here for you."
"You’ve been waiting all morning, haven’t you? I should have come earlier." Ye Ranran felt a bit depressed.
"Cheer up, isn’t it good that we didn’t miss each other?" Jun Mochan nudged her nose.
Ye Ranran nodded, picked up the lunchbox beside her: "The food from outside must not be delicious. I’ve brought you some tasty food, so eat up quickly."
She laid out the dishes one by one. The VIP ward was naturally incomparable to the regular ones, not only spacious and bright but also furnished with tables and the like.
With Jun Mochan there, the orderly naturally wasn’t present.
When Ye Ranran handed him the meal, she glanced at the bed and saw Mrs. Huo: "How is mom?"
