Chapter 923: Chapter 920: Come See If He’s Dead yet
"Get up," he said as he rubbed her head.
Ye Ranran straightened her slightly rumpled pajamas before heading to the washroom.
When she came out after washing her face, she found Jun Mochan getting dressed.
She didn’t find it strange, since Jun Mochan usually got up early; it was just that she tended to lie in bed longer.
But after she finished breakfast and called the driver to bring the car around, she discovered that there was already a car parked at the door.
"Let’s get in the car," Jun Mochan said.
"You don’t have to accompany me today." Whether the result was good or bad, she was ready to accept it.
It was just inevitably painful and if it really was the case, she didn’t want him to see it.
Because no man is indifferent, she didn’t want to see him upset.
"Get in the car. Unless, Madame Jun, you want me to carry you in?"
Ye Ranran knew he meant it and didn’t dare to hesitate, quickly opening the car door and getting in.
"Although I’m not happy about it, he is someone you care about," Jun Mochan explained.
If she was willing to consider him family, then when her family was in trouble, he naturally had to be by her side.
No matter what happened, he would be there for her, supporting her.
"So remember, I’m here for everything; you don’t need to worry," Jun Mochan said as he put his arms around her shoulders.
Ye Ranran leaned against Jun Mochan, listening to his heartbeat, the anxiety in her heart gradually dissipated.
"Rest assured, I’m fine." This man, no matter when or where, was always giving her strength, what reason did she have not to be strong?
At the hospital entrance, Ye Ranran didn’t immediately get out of the car.
Jun Mochan didn’t rush her, waiting patiently for her to prepare mentally.
After sitting for about two minutes, Ye Ranran finally made a move: "Okay, let’s go."
"You have nothing to do here, get out." When she reached the door, Ye Ranran heard Song Ze’s voice.
A look of surprise appeared on her face, she didn’t even think before pushing the door open: "Ah Ze, you’re awake."
Song Ze raised his head, his gaze cold as a basin of ice water, instantly extinguishing all of Ye Ranran’s enthusiasm.
"Madame Jun, I think we are not that acquainted," Song Ze’s tone was indifferent.
Not that acquainted. Those words pierced Ye Ranran’s heart like a knife.
Ye Ranran forced a smile: "Sorry, I called the wrong person. Song Ze and I indeed are not acquainted."
"Wait, why are you here?" Seeing Ye Ranran turning to leave, Song Ze called out to her.
Ye Ranran stopped but didn’t turn around: "I just heard Song Ze was ill and came to see if you were dead or not."
Song Ze laughed: "Seeing that I’m not dead, are you disappointed?"
Ye Ranran’s head tilted slightly, as if seriously considering his words, and then she replied, "Yes, indeed I am quite disappointed."
"Since you’re here, why not keep me company for a chat?" Song Ze suddenly suggested.
If the unwell Song Ze had invited her, Ye Ranran would certainly have not refused; but if it was the Song Ze of high status...
"No thanks, I was just passing by, and besides, we have nothing much to talk about, right?" With that, Ye Ranran walked away.
Watching her retreating back, Song Ze’s eyes were devoid of warmth.
Jun Mochan stood outside the door, hearing every word of their conversation.
"Don’t be sad," Jun Mochan said, not knowing how else to comfort her, he could only rub her head.
Ye Ranran nodded, but her face still couldn’t hide her sorrow as she hugged Jun Mochan, burying her head in his chest.
She knew she should be happy because he was alright and still alive and well.
