Chapter 904: Chapter 901: Not So Many Things Are Taken for Granted

"No need, that’s plenty," Luo Qi said, feeling embarrassed about spending too much of his money, as if she were taking advantage of him.

She bought an extra pound of each item, considering it a reserve for Luo Xuan; he couldn’t just invite her alone, could he?

Seeing her insistence, Ah Chuan didn’t force the issue.

In Country S, where Luo Qi lived, it wasn’t the New Year like in Country Z, so she still had to work.

Luo Xuan, enjoying his days off at home, received a call from Luo Qi while he was in the car. She told him she would cook at home today and asked him not to eat at the fast-food restaurant downstairs.

Luo Xuan was incredibly happy; Luo Qi could even imagine him dancing around joyfully over the phone.

"Sister, why are you coming back to cook today?" Luo Qi had just opened the door, not even fully inside, when Luo Xuan’s excited voice came from inside.

When Luo Xuan saw Ah Chuan following Luo Qi into the house, the smile on his face disappeared instantly: "Sister, why is he here?"

"He helped me just now; I invited him for a meal," Luo Qi said calmly.

"Why are you so nice to him? You don’t come back to cook for me every day," Luo Xuan complained.

In his eyes, no matter how many times Ah Chuan helped her, it couldn’t make up for the hurt he had caused her before.

"How did I teach you? When someone helps you, you should always thank them. Besides, he doesn’t owe me anything, and I don’t owe him either. Don’t ever say this again, understand?" Luo Qi said sternly.

She didn’t want him to live in hatred, nor did she want him to be incapable of forgiving others.

"I understand," Luo Xuan replied, flopping heavily onto the sofa with a discontented look on his face.

She knew then that Luo Qi still couldn’t let go of that person.

Is he really that great? Worthy of her constant thoughts?

Why doesn’t she think about what he did to her before? Was she planning to repeat the same mistakes?

Luo Qi wanted to give Luo Xuan some more advice, but considering Ah Chuan’s presence, she refrained and only said to him, "Come inside with me."

Luo Xuan stood up, slowly following Luo Qi to the kitchen.

As Luo Qi turned on the faucet to wash the vegetables in the sink, Luo Xuan finally stood in front of her: "Thinking of another lecture to give me? Go ahead."

Luo Qi looked at him with amusement: "In your eyes, am I always such an old-fashioned sister?"

"Honestly, not usually, but when it comes to him, you become very unlike yourself. Sister, there are so many men in the world, can’t we just love someone else? Ah Chuan really isn’t worth it."

"You’re overthinking it. I haven’t accepted him. Today, he truly helped me. If not for him, your sister would have been sabotaged at work. It was a significant favor, and inviting him for a meal is not too much."

"Who dares to trouble you? Tell Sister Ranran to fire her," Luo Xuan said angrily.

Luo Qi sternly responded, "I don’t want to hear that kind of talk ever again."

"Fine, I was just saying," Luo Xuan lowered his head.

"Sister Ranran has helped us a lot; she even helped us find this house without charging us any money. I can’t have you constantly thinking about her kindness, but I hope you remember, she’s not our mother, and she doesn’t need to help us with everything."

Luo Qi didn’t want Luo Xuan to develop an attitude of entitlement, such as taking Ye Ranran’s kindness for granted just because she had been very kind to him over time.

In this world, no one is entitled to anyone’s love, nor is anyone obliged to help anyone, even if it’s their own parents.
