"I haven’t eaten yet." Ah Chuan came up with something that was out of the blue, "I came to find you without eating breakfast, and I helped you. Don’t you think you should treat me to lunch?"

"I just said I would treat you, but you were the one who said no." How could he change his expression so quickly?

"But you didn’t agree to my request, did you?"

"Okay, you choose the place," Luo Qi said huffily.

Looking at her puffed cheeks, Ah Chuan’s face brightened with a smile, "Let’s go to your place; it’s been a long time since I’ve had your cooking."

She used to cook for him whenever she was free; he never thought it was anything special, but once he could no longer have it, he missed it immensely.

He didn’t know if this was what people referred to as being self-deprecating; he only knew that at that time, he knew he liked her.

He couldn’t be without her.

Luo Qi really wanted to resolutely refuse him, but her heart told her it was a very good deal; rejecting it would be foolish.

The two had argued about this many times before.

"I know you don’t want to go in, just wait for me outside."

"Let me help you carry that." Ah Chuan took the groceries from Luo Qi’s hands.

Luo Qi gave him the heavier ones.

"Should we buy some more?" Ah Chuan looked at the items in their hands, "How about some pork? The pork back there looked pretty fresh."

He knew Luo Qi had been quite busy lately and didn’t have time to shop for groceries. Eating out, she would just make do.

This person, she hadn’t even indulged in buying new clothes for herself recently.

He knew that the season was about to change, and the company would be clearing out stock soon, selling it off at a steep discount, three to four off; she was likely waiting for that opportunity.
