Chapter 897: Chapter 894: No Resentment, No Hatred
"Today we went to see Xia Qing, I don’t know if she will tell Dad, and if Dad knows, he might get angry," sighed Ye Ranran.
The drama at home seemed endless, inadvertently providing gossip and jokes for others after meals, which was really frustrating.
"Ranran truly has a filial heart,"
Jun Mochan was touched. The Huo mother had treated her so poorly in the past, it was impossible for Ye Ranran to feel no hatred. Remarkably, she was willing to let go of that and help the Huo mother.
He knew that she did it all not to put him in a difficult position, but how many could genuinely harbor no resentment and have no complaints whatsoever?
"Because she’s your mother," he said. He was a flesh of her flesh, and no matter how outrageous she acted, this fact couldn’t be denied.
And from a mother’s perspective, she didn’t believe the Huo mother was in the wrong.
Jun Mochan hugged her even tighter. How could he not love such a Ye Ranran?
After finishing the dishes, the Huo mother stood behind the sofa, overhearing every word Ye Ranran said.
Ye Ranran’s current forbearance only highlighted how petty and blind she had been before.
"Let’s go upstairs and pack our things," said Jun Mochan, finally releasing Ye Ranran reluctantly.
Hand in hand, the two went upstairs.
When Ye Ranran first left the Jun residence, she had taken most of her clothes, but she still had some pajamas left, so she only needed to pick an outfit for tomorrow.
It took less than five minutes for them to finish packing.
The three of them returned to the Huo Family together.
Mr. Huo hadn’t returned home, and Ye Ranran watched TV with Ms. Huo for a while before retreating to her room.
Jun Mochan was busy with documents; he had been quite secretive lately, and it was unclear what he was up to.
Luckily, Ye Ranran had little curiosity and never asked.
After taking a shower, and with Jun Mochan still not back, Ye Ranran sat on the bed and started drawing design sketches.
The evening was peaceful, inspiring more creativity, and Ye Ranran quickly became immersed in her thoughts.
Until a faint argument from downstairs reached her ears.
Fearing that Mr. Huo might come back to cause trouble for Ms. Huo, Ye Ranran hadn’t closed the door entirely, and now it seemed her decision was more right than ever.
When Ye Ranran arrived downstairs, Mr. Huo and Ms. Huo were in a fierce argument.
Mr. Huo, not a man of words, was losing to Ms. Huo. His face was ashen, and his eyes dark as he glared at her.
Ms. Huo glared back, refusing to show weakness.
Tension crackled between them.
Fearing Mr. Huo might act impetuously and draw a gun, Ye Ranran quickly stepped between them.
"Mom, didn’t I tell you to speak nicely with Dad when he returned? Why have you started arguing again?"
She definitely didn’t dare to persuade Mr. Huo, so she had to start with Ms. Huo.
"Don’t I want to speak nicely to him? It’s him who doesn’t want to talk," Ms. Huo retorted aggrievedly.
Ye Ranran comforted her, "Alright, when Dad wasn’t here, you always hoped for him to come back, right? Now that he’s finally here, you don’t want him to leave, do you?"
"Stop putting on a show; I’m not fooled by the little schemes you have in your hearts," Mr. Huo interjected, believing himself to be astute.
Ms. Huo was about to explode with anger, but Ye Ranran turned and addressed him, "Dad, why don’t you spell out what schemes you think we have?"
"You know what you’re thinking, do you really need me to spell it out?" Mr. Huo scoffed coldly.
"Dad, why not plainly say it’s our visit to Ms. Xia today that angered you? But I don’t think we did anything wrong. Please tell us directly, where did we err?" Ye Ranran’s clear eyes mirrored Mr. Huo’s dark ones, and silently, her words dissolved his anger.
