Chapter 833: Chapter 830: Buying Life with Money

The Range Rover drove steadily on the mountain road, Jun Mochan’s eyes filled with intense anxiety and regret.

Why did he always miss Ye Ranran’s calls? Why hadn’t he ever picked up even once?

"Young Master, judging by the Madam’s tone, she seems to be under someone’s control. It would be best if you brought a few people with you," One advised him with concern.

Jun Mochan looked at the three cars closely following behind him, his voice was so light, it sent a chill down the spine: "I know."

After hanging up the phone, One sat in front of the computer, staring unblinkingly as the two dots on the screen drew closer together.

When he received Ye Ranran’s call, he truly wanted to rush over without a second thought. He made it to the door before he slowly walked back step by step.

Reluctant, oh so reluctant, but no matter how reluctant, there was nothing he could do.

That was the Madam, not someone he could think about.

Ye Ranran and Song Ze ran frantically for two kilometers, leaving her so exhausted she could barely catch her breath.

"Sister," Song Ze patted her back, helping her breathe more easily.

Seeing his calm demeanor, Ye Ranran rolled her eyes.

She looked back and, noticing no one was following, she patted her chest: "Alright, we’re safe now. Let’s walk slowly."

The snowy roads were slippery, and in their haste, they had both taken several falls.

All covered in dirt and grime.

"Sister, let me carry you," Song Ze offered.

"No need, I can walk on my own," Ye Ranran said, looking at him with a gentle curve to her brows and eyes.

Song Ze smiled too.

Their footsteps in sync, the pair walked forward as the howling cold wind grazed their ears, turning Ye Ranran’s ears a bright red from the cold.

Her fingers too were becoming increasingly cold.

Song Ze reached back for her hand: "Sister."

His voice carried a tinge of sadness.

"It’s okay, you don’t need to worry," Ye Ranran consoled him.

The sky grew darker, the moon vanished, and there were no stars to be seen.

Ye Ranran surmised that dawn was approaching.

As the first light of dawn appeared on the horizon, footsteps and noise came from behind.

Ye Ranran turned around in terror, and indeed, she saw torches in the distance.

"Ah Ze, let’s go. Hurry," she urged.

Ye Ranran and Song Ze ran with all their might, but the footsteps and voices from behind drew closer.

"Don’t let them get away."

"Chase, chase faster."

"Sister, why are they chasing us?" Song Ze, a bit slow-witted, sensed something was wrong.

"They’re bad people; they want to catch us and take us back," she explained.

Song Ze shuddered, evidently recalling some unpleasant memory.

"Don’t think too much, we need to keep moving. Only by getting out of here do we have a chance to live, understand?" Otherwise, they really might die right there.

"Yeah, I know, Sister, I understand," Song Ze nodded.

Ye Ranran smiled, her smile radiant.

Unfortunately, they still couldn’t make their escape, and when they reached the next intersection, they were blocked.

"Run then, keep running," mocked Ergouzi, Sangaotzi’s older brother, holding a stick to block Ye Ranran and Song Ze’s path.

Ye Ranran’s heart began to panic, though her face showed no sign: "You’ve saved me, and for that, I’m grateful. But your brother and I really are not suited for each other. I’ll give you some money if only you let us go."

Ergouzi snorted dismissively, clearly not believing her words: "You say you’re out here traveling, but you don’t have a penny on you. Now you’re talking about giving us a reward. Where is this money coming from?"

"Don’t worry about that. As long as you let us go, the money will naturally find its way into your hands," she said earnestly, her elegant brows and eyes conveying sincerity.
