Chapter 830: Chapter 827: Looks Good But Not Practical
This was a trivial matter, and it was fine for others to handle it, but One still wanted to go. However, upon seeing the dangerous look in Jun Mochan’s eyes, he couldn’t bring himself to voice any opposition.
Before leaving, Jun Mochan said a word to Elder Jun.
"Go ahead, I’m here."
"Grandfather, I’m sorry." Looking at Elder Jun’s white hair, Jun Mochan’s face was filled with remorse.
"What are you apologizing to Grandfather for?" He was just going to be away for a few days, and he had most things arranged already. Unless there was a major problem, there was no need for his involvement.
After saying goodbye to Elder Jun, Jun Mochan boarded the helicopter that had long been prepared.
Jun Mochan had gotten the location wrong; it was an abandoned house, and Ye Ranran was nowhere to be found.
He could only rush to the next place.
By the time Jun Mochan arrived, Ye Ranran had already left three days ago.
She and Song Ze had been on the run for two days, had come down the mountain, and ultimately fainted from hunger on the roadside, where someone picked her up and brought her back.
When Ye Ranran opened her eyes again, she saw a white ceiling, with sunlight shining through the window casting shadows on it.
Glancing to the side, she saw a strip of light.
Next, there was a solid wood dressing table and a chair of the same color scheme, and nothing more.
The whole room was rather simple.
Ye Ranran tried to move and found herself weak and without strength.
"You’re awake?" A man came in with a bowl of porridge, looking very happy to approach her.
Ye Ranran looked at him warily, "Who are you?"
"You fainted at our doorstep, so we picked you up and brought you back," the man replied with a simple smile, "Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
"Thank you, could you find an auntie to help me wash up?"
"I can help you."
"No, it’s better if you find someone else. Don’t worry, I will pay you," Ye Ranran said with a touch of coldness in her brow.
"Don’t joke around, you don’t have a penny on you," the man said with a crafty look, as if to say, don’t try to fool me, I’ve checked you thoroughly.
"How do you know that?" Ye Ranran’s face lost all its softness, replaced by a chilling sharpness.
The entire person also added a certain majesty.
"We checked when we were changing your clothes," the man admitted unabashedly, "To tell you the truth, the reason I was willing to pick you up was to have you as my bride."
Otherwise, why would he feed her without any expectation in return? He might as well raise a pig.
"Was it you who changed my clothes?"
"No, I had Aunt Li from the village do it."
Ye Ranran felt somewhat relieved, "Where is my brother? The person who was with me."
"He’s in the room next to yours, still hasn’t woken up. It’s surprising that he’s even weaker than you," the man ridiculed.
Just a pretty boy, nice to look at but useless.
Ye Ranran’s heart settled, and she extended her hand, "Give me the porridge, I can drink it myself."
The porridge was a bit hot, and after drinking it, Ye Ranran’s complexion improved a bit, whether from being heated or genuine recovery.
"Hurry up and find an auntie to help me wash up, I don’t need your assistance," Ye Ranran said firmly, "Don’t you want to marry me off? You can meet this request, right?"
"Alright," the man agreed.
Soon, an auntie came over.
"Miss, where do you live? Do you have any family? How did you come to be here?" Aunt Li asked as she helped Ye Ranran prepare the bath water.
