Chapter 804: Chapter 801: Can’t Bear to See Her Upset

"Sister, sister." Seeing Ye Ranran spacing out, Song Ze tugged at her clothes.

Ye Ranran smiled sweetly, "Let me teach you how to build a snowman."

Song Ze gathered the snow, and Ye Ranran started building. After about two hours, a snowman taller than Ye Ranran appeared.

Ye Ranran picked up a branch from the ground and carefully crafted the snowman’s eyebrows and eyes.

Soon, the snowman bore a familiar face to Ye Ranran.

Looking at its gentle brows and eyes, Ye Ranran smiled, a smile that was a bit bitter and yet filled with longing.

"Sister, who is he?" Song Ze looked at the snowman, then at the smile on Ye Ranran’s face, and asked curiously.

"He’s the person I love the most." Ye Ranran stared unblinkingly at the snowman, as if Jun Mochan might appear in front of her the next second.

"Shall we build another one?"

Finally, Ye Ranran turned her head, looked at the pleading in Song Ze’s eyes, and nodded.

The first snowman had taken a while because it was their first time, but with that experience, the next one went much faster.

After they finished, Song Ze took Ye Ranran’s hand, "Sister, can you make this snowman look like me?"

Ye Ranran did not speak, just looked at him with a puzzled gaze.

"Because you smile when you look at him, so if I stand next to the person you love the most, you’ll also smile when you look at me."

His words nearly brought Ye Ranran to tears.

"If one day you’re not so naive anymore, say that to me again, and I’m sure I’ll smile when I see you." Ye Ranran tried hard to lift the corners of her mouth, squeezing out the most flawless smile for him.

Song Ze didn’t quite understand what Ye Ranran meant, but he nodded anyway, "Okay, I will strive to be smarter."

"What are you discussing?" Huo Yi walked out from the house, his eyes inadvertently swept over the snowman beside them.

When he saw the snowman’s face clearly, his expression changed slightly, but he remained silent.

"Just small talk," replied Ye Ranran, her smile not fading and seeming to be in a good mood.

Huo Yi didn’t expect Ye Ranran to answer him, nor did he expect her to show him a friendly face.

The mask on his face slowly melted away, revealing the surprise underneath.

"Ranran, what did you just say? Can you say it again, please?"

"So I should just say it because you asked?" Ye Ranran responded unenthusiastically.

Huo Yi wasn’t at all upset, and his face even showed noticeable joy.

"Ranran." He stepped forward and stood in front of Ye Ranran, holding her shoulders, "Does this mean you’re not angry with me anymore?"

Had she agreed to forgive him and be with him again?

"You’re wrong, I don’t forgive you, but I also don’t want to keep going on like this with you. After all, you won’t let me go, will you?"

Ye Ranran had changed her strategy, deciding to confuse Huo Yi until he let down his guard, and then she would plan her escape.

It was okay as long as she no longer ignored him, as long as she didn’t resist him anymore.

"May I ask how is my husband doing?" Ye Ranran was still quite worried about Jun Mochan.

He must be going crazy, right?

"Ranran, why ask so many questions? You know I won’t tell him anything about you," he replied.

It might be better not to know, to save herself the heartache.

"Ranran, you know I can’t bear to see you upset," whispered Huo Yi, leaning forward and looking into Ye Ranran’s eyes with the gentlest of voices.

Once, Ye Ranran couldn’t resist him when he was like this. Just the sound of his voice speaking to her in such a tone...

She would jump into a fire pit without hesitation, knowing full well what was before her.
