Chapter 748: Chapter 745: Adding Some Things_1
"There are only three of us at home, you, me, and grandpa. Grandpa is old and doesn’t eat snacks, I’m also not interested in them, if I buy them, it’s not for you then who else could it be for?"
Ye Ranran: "..." She was at a total loss for words to refute him.
"Come on, let’s ignore these, we can look at something else." Seeing Ye Ranran’s unhappy face, Jun Mochan decided to move towards the household items section.
"Are we running out of towels at home? Let’s buy two, and two cups as well. We should replace the quilt and the curtains too."
That day, once Ye Ranran started shopping, she couldn’t stop. It wasn’t until she had replaced every single item in the room did she finally stop.
"How are we going to handle all these things?" Looking at the enormous pile of items she selected, Ye Ranran felt overwhelmed.
"Don’t worry, I’ll have the manager deliver them to our home."
"Isn’t this going to be a waste of money?" Ye Ranran was torn about the expenditure.
Jun Mochan pinched her face: "Don’t worry, your husband can support you."
"Who said I need you to support me?" Ye Ranran defiantly retorted, yet her mischievous smile gave away her true emotions.
By the time the items were delivered to Jun’s home, Jun Mochan had already gone out.
The old man Jun was home alone. His gloomy mood improved considerably when he saw Ye Ranran bustling about in the hall.
This cold and cheerless house was finally becoming a bit livelier.
"Why did you buy so much?" Old man Jun asked as he watched the never-ending stream of goods being brought in.
"It’s New Year, so I thought I would buy some things for our home." Ye Ranran timidly replied.
Labeling them as ’some things’ was quite an understatement as the pile of items was as tall as a small mountain.
"I was just asking. Why are you so nervous?" Old man Jun grumpily commented.
Ye Ranran quickly shook her head: "I’m not nervous, just a bit guilty."
She felt like she bought too much. If this were any normal family, she would have definitely been scolded.
"It’s just purchasing some items, we, the Jun family, can afford it." In reality, the Jun family was not lacking in anything, they were just not buying much.
Ye Ranran stood tall: "Yes, grandpa, I understand."
"Grandpa, this is a sleepwear set I bought for you, do you like it?" Ye Ranran impulsively ran towards the pile of goods.
As she tried to rummage through the pile of items on the table with one hand, old man Jun stopped her, "Tell someone to fetch it for you, don’t hurt yourself."
"Don’t worry, I am not a fragile doll, I’ll be careful." Ye Ranran continued to look and finally found a box.
She presented it carefully to the old man: "Grandpa, this is a gift for you. I have also bought a pair of shoes. Even though they are nothing fancy, I thought you could use them."
Her face didn’t show any deliberate flattery, just concern, the kind of concern that one would only show to their family.
Old man Jun’s hands trembled a little as he accepted the items: "It’s rare to see you putting in such effort."
His tone was still prideful, but it had lost its earlier severity.
"Ranran, do you hold a grudge against your grandpa?" Old man Jun asked unexpectedly.
Did she ever hold a grudge against him for making her life difficult back then?
"Why would I hold a grudge? Grandpa has always been nice to me." Ye Ranran responded, her brows furrowed.
Old man Jun tried to detect any falseness in her face but found none. Her smile was a bit hard to bear as the swelling on her face had yet to subside.
"What happened to your face?" Who dared to hit her?
Ye Ranran touched her face and playfully responded: "What would you think if I said I bumped into something?"
