Chapter 721: Chapter 718: Allowing You to Believe It_1
"Awake?"
Ye Ranran lifted her head unconsciously at the familiar voice above her, looking at Jun Mochan’s picturesque face with a hint of disbelief.
She couldn’t help but reach out her arms and circle them around his neck. Hanging on him, she cuddled against his neck and said, "Hold me."
Jun Mochan quickly embraced her, one hand gripping her arm to prevent her from getting hurt again and the other wrapped around her waist.
"I’m here, take it slow."
"I’m afraid I’m dreaming, and when I wake up, you’ll be gone again," said Ye Ranran cheerfully.
Jun Mochan’s heart ached: "That won’t happen again, never again."
"Won’t what?"
"I won’t leave you again." No matter what happens, he would stay by her side.
"Really? Don’t lie to me, I tend to take things seriously."
"I won’t lie to you, you can believe me."
Upon hearing this, Ye Ranran broke into a happy smile, but seeing this, Jun Mochan felt heartbroken.
They cuddled for a while before finally getting up, as Jun’s grandfather was already waiting downstairs.
"You’re up? Let’s eat," Jun’s grandfather said without lifting his head from the newspaper.
Ye Ranran was a bit embarrassed, "Grandpa..."
Feeling Ye Ranran’s unease, Jun Mochan tightened his grip on her wrist: "You don’t need to say anything, grandpa understands."
Seeing Jun Mochan’s protective stance, Jun’s grandfather huffed, "I didn’t say anything wrong, what are you so worried about?"
"It was not easy for me to marry her, of course I have to be vigilant. I hope grandpa understands."
Ye Ranran tugged at Jun Mochan’s sleeve: "Grandpa didn’t say anything, you should say less."
She was just a bit late, and felt shy about it. Grandpa hadn’t said anything, so he didn’t need to make a fuss about it.
"See, your wife is more reasonable than you," grandpa said, scoffing.
"Of course, my wife is naturally the best." Jun Mochan responded proudly, as if he himself had been complimented.
Ye Ranran: "..."
"Let’s go, let’s have some food." Jun Mochan took Ye Ranran’s hand.
Holding her fingers, his palm was close to hers, close enough to convey his warm temperature, yet they were not completely intertwined.
"What do you want to eat?" asked Jun Mochan.
Ye Ranran pointed at the youtiao (fried dough sticks) in the distance, a delicacy she hadn’t eaten in a while and suddenly craved.
"Too oily."
She then pointed at the pancakes.
"Too greasy."
Ye Ranran annoyed, pointed at the steamed buns.
"This is fine." Jun Mochan picked up a steamed bun. When Ye Ranran opened her mouth, he stuffed it in.
She took a bite, unexpectedly, it was a meat bun filled with soup.
Her strong bite made the soup ooze out, some of it dripping onto her clothes.
"Be careful." Jun Mochan helped her wipe her mouth.
Ye Ranran glared at him, wasn’t it his fault? He stuffed such a big bite into her mouth.
Watching her puffing her cheeks while eating, Jun Mochan found her exceedingly cute.
After Ye Ranran finished her bun, Jun Mochan picked up some porridge: "Come, have some porridge."
Just as Ye Ranran was about to refuse, her phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, she answered almost instinctively.
"What’s up?" The call was from Secretary Wu, who wouldn’t call unless it was urgent.
"Madam, there’s trouble. Our stock took a hit today. We don’t know why, but it dropped a lot. It’s about to hit the limit down," Secretary Wu anxiously reported.
"Limit down? How did that happen?"
"It was very sudden. We’ve started investigating, but haven’t found a reason yet. Many investors are now on a selling spree," the secretary sounded as anxious as an ant on a hot pot.
