Chapter 690: Chapter 687: Stay and Keep Him Company_1

She reached out, turning on the bedside lamp, and when she saw that the man crushing her was none other than the man she despised the most...

Ye Ranran didn’t hesitate to kick him off.

"Ranran, be gentle." Huo Yi was kicked under the bed by her.

"Gentle? I’ve already shown mercy."

Huo Yi glanced at the window, where One’s figure was already long gone.

He sure made a quick exit.

"Barging into my room late at night, leaving blood stains, what’s that about? An uninformed person might think you’re a vampire, specifically targeting men."

"I’m truly injured, Ranran, if you don’t help me, I’m going to die here."

"You really know how to pick a place." Ye Ranran complained.

Of all the places he could have gone, he had to choose hers. Wasn’t this just asking for trouble?

Even though she was very displeased with Huo Yi, Ye Ranran still called for help.

As soon as his mother returned, she saw Huo Yi being carried out, covered in blood. She almost fainted.

"What happened?" She angrily demanded.

"I just accidentally got injured." Huo Yi didn’t want to tell everyone the truth.

One didn’t use his underlings to deal with him. Being injured today was his own carelessness. Next time, it wouldn’t be so easy!

Huo Yi saw this as a war between two men. It was as if telling someone else meant admitting defeat.

"Injured? By whom?" His mother pressed. She wanted to see who was capable of injuring Huo Yi.

"Mother, don’t ask anymore. I’ll handle this." Huo Yi said with a frown.

Seeing his pained expression, his mother grew anxious: "What are you all standing around for? Call the doctor."

A family like the Huo Family naturally had a personal doctor. Going to a public hospital and letting their political enemies find out, would be a problem.

"Fine, if you don’t want to tell me, I won’t force you." His mother let Huo Yi go. "What are you all standing there for? Hurry and stop the young master’s bleeding."

"Okay, of course." The servant hurried to fetch the first aid kit.

Halfway through stopping the bleeding, the doctor arrived. The bullet had gone very deep, but didn’t hit any vital areas. A period of recuperation should be enough.

"My room is a mess, clean it up." With Huo Yi in the clear, Ye Ranran yawned.

She wasn’t concerned about him; she just didn’t want to leave, appearing to care more than she did.

"Ranran..." Huo Yi stopped Ye Ranran. "Could you stay with me a bit longer?"

"No way." Before Ye Ranran could respond, his mother cut in: "Ranran has been standing outside in the heavy snow all afternoon, how can she stay up any longer? Are you trying to kill her?"

Standing all afternoon? Huo Yi was taken aback by the information from his mother’s words: "You... I... I didn’t know."

Ye Ranran smirked, "It’s okay, I don’t blame you."

She had never hoped for anything from him, nor yearned returning to the past; naturally, there was no disappointment.

"Since everything is okay, I’ll go now." Ye Ranran nodded to his mother and left.

Sensing the weird atmosphere between the two, his mother asked, "What’s going on?"

"It’s nothing." Huo Yi replied gloomily.

He knew he messed up again. But there was no ill-intent; just that seeing Ranran so close to One made him jealous and he blurted out hurtful words.

By the time he realized what he had said, it was too late for regret.
