Luo Qi took the quilt she had brought from home, spread it on the ground, and lay down in her clothes.

She had a particularly sweet sleep and was awakened early in the morning by a call from Che Hao’s assistant. Che Hao was not feeling well today and had cancelled the announcement.

Luo Qi immediately asked for a leave from her company.

After washing her face, Luo Qi returned to the ward. Her mother was struggling to get up.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Luo Qi quickly walked over to her and helped her stay upright.

"I wanted to go to the bathroom." Luo’s mother tried to smile.

"Didn’t I tell you I was just going to wash my face? Couldn’t you have waited for me?" Luo Qi scolded her.

With sullen eyes filled with fondness and regret, Luo’s mother responded, "Xiao Qi, I’m really sorry that I couldn’t help you and even became a burden."

Had it not been for her, Luo Qi wouldn’t be suffering like this.

"Mom, why would you say such a thing? You raised me with all your hardships, isn’t it my duty to take care of you? You never considered me a burden when I was young." Luo Qi rebuffed unhappily.

Listening to her response, Luo’s mother felt even more remorse. She looked around and asked, "Where’s Ah Chuan? How come I can’t see him?"

Usually, he would be the first person she saw when she woke up. Why was today different?

Changing the subject so suddenly to Luo Qi’s least favourite person made Luo Qi feel as if she had swallowed a fly. Yet, she couldn’t show it on her face.

"He was busy today, so he left early." Luo Qi lied plainly.

"Oh, is that so? In that case, you can go to work if you’re busy. I don’t need you guys to serve me."

Luo Qi helped her mother to the edge of the toilet: "I’m not busy. I took the day off."

After Luo Qi stayed with her mother for a while, Luo Xuan arrived with a home-cooked meal.

"Little brother, you’re so thoughtful," Luo Xuan teased while manhandling Luo Xuan’s face.

Having long been a nanny, Luo’s mother had excellent culinary skills, and naturally, Luo Xuan who always stayed by her side wasn’t far behind.

As for Luo Qi, she didn’t have any culinary talent. Her cooking was alright, but it was incomparable to Luo Xuan’s.

"You’ve squished my face into a round shape." Luo Xuan protested but didn’t move, letting Luo Qi pinch his face into various shapes.

"Better round. I like round things," Luo Qi said, but she ended up releasing Luo Xuan.

Watching the two of them play so freely, Luo’s mother watched with a beaming smile.
