Chapter 613: Chapter 611: So it Turns Out To Be That Liked_1
He circled one arm around her shoulder, one hand sneaking under her knee, slightly bending his waist and, with a bit of force, he lifted her off the ground.
The sudden warmth drove Luo Qi to instinctively lean in, then lean in some more.
She wasn’t sure if it was because Ah Chuan’s embrace was broad and warm but Luo Qi found herself snuggling closer.
During their cold war period, Ah Chuan didn’t even touch Luo Qi’s hand, not to mention holding her or giving her a kiss.
He tightened his grip around Luo Qi and walked out with long strides.
Ah Chuan had gotten a room for himself, next door to Luo Qi’s mother.
As he gently laid Luo Qi on the bed, he inadvertently woke her up. Perhaps he had used too much force.
When she saw him, her defenses went up immediately: "What are you doing here?"
Her question fueled the anger that Ah Chuan had just managed to suppress: "Something this big happened and you didn’t even tell me. If I hadn’t run into your brother, were you planning to keep it from me the whole time?"
"I think you’re mistaken. That’s my brother, it has nothing to do with you." Luo Qi added more fuel to the fire.
"What did you say?" Ah Chuan grabbed her shoulders, his voice harsh.
Luo Qi bravely met his gaze: "I said..."
"Smack." She lifted her hand and slapped Ah Chuan hard across the face.
Ah Chuan recoiled from the blow, releasing her and stepping back, a look of fear on his face.
He knew he had done something wrong, causing a big harm to Luo Qi by the abortion.
"Get lost, get out of here", Luo Qi pointed towards the door.
Ah Chuan floundered, wanting to explain: "Xiao Qi, I..."
"Didn’t you hear me? I told you to get out!" Luo Qi grabbed a nearby cushion and threw it at Ah Chuan.
"Fine, I’ll go. I’ll go right away. I will stay up instead of you, you should rest." Seeing her worked up, Ah Chuan quickly tried to pacify her.
Just as the door closed behind him, two streams of tears trickled down Luo Qi’s face. She quickly wiped them away, terrified of being seen by anyone.
She didn’t blame Ah Chuan, she blamed herself.
She had promised not to fall for him again, but why had her heart been so easily swayed by him again and again?
She had clearly said that they wouldn’t be together again, but she hated how easily he could shake her resolve.
Luo Qi hugged her knees close and curled up into a small ball on the bed.
She realized, her heart was still beating for him.
After all, she did like him so much.
Even if she wanted to deny it, the pain in her heart became even clearer.
If she really didn’t care, she shouldn’t be hurting anymore. And if she really didn’t care, she should be able to retaliate without restraint.
