After finishing the call with Ye Ranran and learning about One’s mishap, Jun Mochan busily started reorganizing.

However, One didn’t call for his help even when he was conscious, implying there wasn’t much of a problem.

Now, he had to take care of some follow-up matters, as well as arrange a doctor for One.

Just as he was done and had sent One’s location to his men, his mother called.

Looking at the flashing number on the screen, Jun Mochan felt a headache. He really didn’t want to answer.

The phone rang for a while and finally stopped. As soon as Jun Mochan sighed with relief, it rang again.

Jun Mochan knew that he couldn’t avoid answering any longer.

"Mom, what’s up?" Jun Mochan’s tone remained indifferent, but there was a hint of helplessness in his voice.

"Can’t I contact you when I don’t need anything? I arrived in A City today, you know about it, right?" his mother asked grumpily.

Jun Mochan was surprised: "You’re in A City? Why didn’t you tell me beforehand? I could have arranged someone to pick you up."

"Oh, now that you have a wife, you’ve forgotten about your own mother," his mother complained.

"How could that be? You’re overthinking," Jun Mochan said, flipping through his files, "Mom, since you just arrived, get some rest. I have some work to do."

"Hold on, I came alone. Can I stay at your place tonight?"

Jun Mochan thought about it. With Ye Ranran gone, his mother probably wouldn’t stir up any trouble, so he reluctantly agreed: "Fine, you can stay on the third floor."

The villa had three floors, the servants lived on the first, Ye Ranran and Jun Mochan on the second.

It was clear from assigning her to the third floor that Jun Mochan was still cautious of her.

His mother was slightly upset, but didn’t say much more. The main point wasn’t about staying for the night, but getting Xia Shi into the villa.

Beaming with excitement, she held her phone and said to Xia Shi, "He agreed."

"Last time he chased you out, he chased me out as well. Now that he agreed to let me stay, isn’t he also agreeing for you to come in?"

"Ok then, be confident. If anything goes wrong, I’ll handle it," his mother disliked her meek demeanor.

To her surprise, Xia Shi almost burst into tears at her words, "Mother, brother Mo Han will definitely blame me if he finds out."

"Let him blame me. Or do you wish for him to continue being deceived by that vixen?"

Xia Shi shook her head.

"That’s more like it. Stop overthinking, just listen to me," his mother reassured her.

Xia Shi nodded, forcing back the tears welling up in her eyes.

His mother nodded in approval. The more she looked at this daughter-in-law that she had picked, the more pleased she became. She grabbed Xia Shi’s hand and said, "Let’s go, I’m going to buy you something."

"Go, go where?"

"You’ll know when we get there."

In the lingerie shop, she held up a set of provocative lingerie: "How about this one?"

Xia Shi didn’t know where to look: "I don’t need this, Mother, let’s go back"

"Why don’t you need it? You have such a good figure. Pair that with this, and no man would be able to resist. Come, start picking."
