The phone rang loudly in the dark night, and Ye Ranran awoke in an instant.

"Who’s this?" She glanced at the incoming number, noting there was no added contact.

"It’s me, Zhou Xian." His clear voice came through the speaker.

Immediately, Ye Ranran pictured his handsome, sunny face and her irritation at being woken up vanished: "What’s up?"

She looked around and didn’t see Jun Mochan. Now Zhou Xian was calling her.

Her gut told her something had happened to Jun Mochan.

"Is it my husband? Is he in trouble?" Ye Ranran asked.

"Don’t worry, he’s brawling with someone at the Charm Bar." Zhou Xian glanced at the beaten-up Gao Han, a faint smile in his eyes.

"I’ll be right there."

Hearing the rustling noises of her getting dressed on the other end, Zhou Xian’s smile deepened, although his voice remained steady: "Do you need me to pick you up?"
