Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover_1

She turned to leave, but Ling Yun suddenly pounced at her. Caught off guard, Ye Ranran was knocked to the ground.

Ling Yun whipped off her hat, exposing Ye Ranran’s freshly sprouted hair to the air.

Looking at Ye Ranran’s partially bald head, Ling Yun laughed arrogantly, "Everyone, come look! She’s bald, she’s bald."

"What are you doing?" Luo Qi rushed over from somewhere and harshly pushed Ling Yun.

Ling Yun clung tightly to Ye Ranran. When she fell to the ground, Ye Ranran was pressed atop her.

"Let go." Luo Qi reached for her hand.

Ling Yun’s fingernails dug deeply into Ye Ranran’s flesh, causing her so much pain that she couldn’t utter a word.

She had taken a fall the previous night, aggravating an old injury and she was already uncomfortable. Ling Yun had pounced on her ruthlessly just now.

She was now in pain all over, especially at the knee.

"I won’t let go. Everyone come and see, a bald head, a bald fashion designer, hahaha." Ling Yun laughed arrogantly.

Ye Ranran was already on the movie set, and it was almost time for filming. Most of the crew members had arrived by now.

At this moment, they all gathered around, either watching the spectacle or pitying her, or whispering among themselves. Yet no one stepped forward to help.

Luo Qi tried to pry Ling Yun’s hand off, but to no avail.

Ling Yun’s hand was like a vice, clenching Ye Ranran tightly.

Just as Ye Ranran felt she was about to die from the pain, a pair of large hands rescued her.

Che Hao grabbed Ling Yun’s wrist, pulled her hand off Ye Ranran, and then grabbed Ye Ranran’s arm to steady her by his side.

Before he could say anything, Jun Mochan strode over from outside.

His face was full of anxiety, and his eyes were frantic. Upon seeing Ye Ranran, he regained his usual calmness.

"Ranran." Jun Mochan walked over to Ye Ranran.

Ye Ranran did not look at him, instead withdrawing her hand from Che Hao’s, "Thank you, Mr. Che, for your help."

"Do you need to get your arm treated?" Che Hao pointed to her arm.

Several deep nail marks scarred her fair, soft arms, and fresh blood was flowing out. The sight was shocking.

Jun Mochan’s eyes immediately narrowed, and without a second thought, he took Ye Ranran by the shoulder. "Come, let’s go to the hospital."

He expected Ye Ranran to resist, but to his surprise, she obediently went with him.

This had saved him a lot of trouble.

"How did this happen?" The nurse, dressing Ye Ranran’s wounds, glanced over at Jun Mochan thoughtfully.

"It’s my fault." Jun Mochan rubbed his nose.

He had failed to protect her well.

Little did he know how much his words stirred one’s imagination.

"Looks can really be deceiving." The nurse gave Jun Mochan a deep look.

Jun Mochan soon caught on and let out a wry smile, though he offered no explanation.

After her wounds had been cleaned and medicated, the pain subsided considerably, and Ye Ranran’s furrowed brows softened a bit.

Jun Mochan sat beside her, keeping her company.

Ye Ranran looked out the window, not saying a word.

"Last night Feng Xi fell ill and I went to see her. I promise there’s nothing going on between us. I didn’t take you with me because I didn’t want you to be her target." Jun Mochan explained.

"I know." If she didn’t understand at the beginning, she certainly did now that she had had time to calm down and think.

But understanding it didn’t mean that she wasn’t upset about it.

"If you don’t want to see her again, I can have her removed from the crew and replaced as the lead." Jun Mochan carefully suggested.
