Chapter 1343 - 1266: She Did It

Chapter 1343: Chapter 1266: She Did It

Gu Heng felt that Fan Rou was quite ungrateful; even in her current state, she still rejected the kindness of others.

Alright, should he just leave her be? He decided to do just that.

But after taking a few steps, he turned back, looked at Fan Rou’s face covered in sand and without saying a word, hoisted her up and carried her away.

Fan Rou started pounding on his back, "What are you doing? Put me down."

Fan Rou never expected Gu Heng to be so bold as to kidnap her straight from her home. Who gave him the courage? Who allowed him to do that?

"I am taking you to treat your wounds, don’t move around," Gu Heng said as he placed her into a Humvee and fastened her seatbelt.

Fan Rou sneered, "Have I ever told you, you really like to meddle in others’ business?"

"No." This was the first time someone had described him this way; no one had ever said anything like that about him before.

"So does that mean I am extraordinary? You are not going to say that you’ve taken a liking to me now, are you?" Coldness played at the corners of Fan Rou’s lips.

She detested these unclear, lingering connections the most. What was he trying to do? Keep her as a backup option?

Her mother’s tragic story had a significant impact on Fan Rou; from a young age, she vowed never to be a concubine but rather an ordinary wife.

Those who wanted her to be the other woman should simply give up; she would never agree to it.

"Don’t be so extreme. After all, you are my brother’s wife’s friend. I couldn’t just ignore you when I see you," Gu Heng explained.

Fan Rou’s punch felt like it hit cotton, soft and weak; bored, she closed her mouth.

Gu Heng brought Fan Rou to his place, the same remote suburban area as last time, with a vast stretch of farmland in front.

The crops were long gone now, leaving the land bare and bleak.

At late night, the place felt even more eerie.

Fan Rou had been here before, so she wasn’t very curious this time.

Gu Heng took out a medical kit, first wiped Fan Rou’s face with tissue paper removing most of the sand and then, using a cotton swab soaked in alcohol, removed the more stubborn grains.

Finally, he used tweezers to remove sand grains embedded in her flesh.

The whole process took about thirty minutes; Fan Rou grimaced in pain, her face swollen and uneven, far from her previous delicate beauty.

Gu Heng applied some anti-swelling and pain-relieving medicine. As soon as he did, the wounds stung terribly.

"Aren’t medicines supposed to be cooling? What is this?" Fan Rou even suspected he was doing it on purpose.

"It hurts at first, but it will feel better soon; just bear with it a little," Gu Heng said as he packed the medical kit away.

Five minutes later, he came back, and the burning sensation had significantly subsided.

Fan Rou started to believe that Gu Heng hadn’t lied to her.

"What mistake did you make for them to treat you this way?" Gu Heng sat in front of Fan Rou.

Fan Rou’s expression turned a bit weird, "Song Yue fell off the stage, everyone thought I did it. My elder sisters and stepmother thought I disgraced them, so they punished me to kneel there."

Gu Heng’s expression also became hard to read, "Did you do it?"

"If I say I didn’t do it, would you believe me?" Fan Rou also looked directly into his eyes.

Gu Heng didn’t respond.

Fan Rou smiled, a complex and indecipherable smile, "I might as well tell you, I did it."

She admitted it openly, and now it was Gu Heng’s turn to be taken aback.

"Why would you do that?" Song Yue and she had no enmity; she had no reason to attack her.
