Chapter 1312: Chapter 1235: She’s a Good Girl
Ye Ranran was laughing and chatting with Jun Mochan when a lamb leg appeared before them.
"Roasted and ready, give it a try."
The lamb leg had been sliced by Fan Rou, who also thoughtfully placed two pairs of chopsticks.
Ye Ranran felt somewhat reassured, grateful that she hadn’t been completely forgotten.
"Little brother, isn’t my sister great?" Ye Ranran asked.
Gu Heng nodded: "Yeah, she’s a good girl."
Fan Rou indeed seemed quite genuine in their previous chat.
"How about it? Would you consider my sister?" Ye Ranran winked at him.
Gu Heng was taken aback by Ye Ranran’s words, shocked for a few seconds, then repeatedly waved his hands: "No, no need, sister-in-law, I’m not thinking about that sort of thing for now."
Fan Rou’s face turned pale instantly. Ye Ranran wanted to say more, but Fan Rou stomped her foot: "Ranran, stop talking."
Talking further would only make her feel more embarrassed.
"Alright, I won’t say anymore." Ye Ranran agreed on the surface, but once Fan Rou turned around, she pulled Gu Heng aside.
"You really don’t like my sister?"
Seeing Ye Ranran looking like a mother worried about her daughter’s marriage, Gu Heng’s mouth twitched: "Sister-in-law, I really don’t have those intentions right now."
"Let me guess, you’re going to tell me you need to establish your career before starting a family?" Ye Ranran voiced the thoughts Gu Heng was about to express.
Gu Heng didn’t know how to respond and just nodded.
"Gu Family of Frontier City, holding significant military power, you’re young but already a special forces operative. After the new year, you’ll be sent to an international military academy and join the hunter training troops. Upon return, you’ll be commissioned. How do you need to establish your career further? Do you plan to think about family in your thirties?"
Hearing her elaborate, Gu Heng gave a bitter smile: "Sister-in-law, I didn’t expect you to know so much about me."
"Just average knowledge, but anyhow, you once liked Song Yue, didn’t you?"
She needed to be clear about everything concerning Song Yue, otherwise, who knows how she might end up blindsided.
"Why are you so fixated on Song Yue? It’s impossible for you and her to be together." She would absolutely not let Song Yue off.
If he sided with Song Yue, she wouldn’t consider showing him mercy.
Song Yue’s fate was a must for her.
"It has nothing to do with her, I just simply don’t want to find anyone." Gu Heng stared at his own toes.
"It’s not about agreeing right away, just try to interact more, give yourself and others a chance," persuasively suggested Ye Ranran.
Seeing the troubled look on Gu Heng’s face, Ye Ranran suddenly realized she might seem like she was forcing a marriage.
When a man explicitly refuses, it means he truly has no interest, and any further insistence would only make things unpleasant for both.
"Don’t feel too pressured, I just think my sister is great, and since there’s no one else by your side, I thought it might be worth a try. If I’ve pressured you, I’m sorry," shrugged Ye Ranran: "I’ve said what I needed to say, consider it as nonsense."
She turned around and left without hesitation.
Fan Rou, standing not far away, heard everything. Her face streamed with tears.
No one had ever fought for her like this, nor had anyone considered her feelings like this.
Before Gu Heng knew she liked him, their interactions were joyful, but after he found out, he didn’t know how to behave around her anymore.
