Chapter 1250: Chapter 1173: Unexpected Encounter
He needed to study the composition of that drug again.
Ye Ranran arrived downstairs and didn’t see Shen Yuzhe; there wasn’t the slightest hint of surprise in her eyes, as he had been locking himself in the lab day and night these days.
She didn’t even know what experiment he was working on.
She hadn’t had breakfast and was already hungry by noon, but she had no appetite, so she just ate a few bites of noodles before heading out.
Breathing in the fresh air outside, Ye Ranran felt relaxed in both body and mind.
She had arranged to meet Fan Rou, and the two planned to go shopping.
"You’re actually not staying at home to accompany your precious son," exclaimed Fan Rou with praise.
These past days, she had more than once suggested visiting or asking her out, only to be refused by Ye Ranran on the grounds that she had to take care of her child and had no free time.
Ye Ranran smiled, looking at the passersby with nostalgia in her eyes: "Having a child, of course, makes things different."
Watching her sickly pale face, Fan Rou wanted to say something but hesitated; suddenly spotting a couple not far ahead, she immediately stepped in front of Ye Ranran: "Let’s go check out that side."
The overly conspicuous action aroused Ye Ranran’s suspicion, and she stood on tiptoe to look behind Fan Rou: "What’s wrong?"
"Nothing, I just don’t want to go over there," Fan Rou said, pulling her in the opposite direction.
Through the crowd, Ye Ranran could see that exceptionally handsome figure; he had called her that very morning to express his care and concern for her.
Seeing her freeze in place, Fan Rou slowly let go of her: "Maybe things aren’t what you think?"
"I know, so let’s go over and ask," Ye Ranran said, dragging Fan Rou toward the other side.
Jun Mochan took Song Yue into a W.L shoe store, the same brand Ye Ranran always wore and adored, where she bought all her shoes.
Jun Mochan actually brought Song Yue here.
Ye Ranran’s face darkened to the point where it seemed it could drip water.
Inside the store, Song Yue extended her foot to Jun Mochan, who knelt down to help her try on the shoes, with a faint smile hanging on his lips.
This scene pricked Ye Ranran’s eyes like needles.
But she still refused to believe that Jun Mochan would betray her.
She believed the whole world could abandon her, but not him.
He was the god in her world, her entire faith.
She picked up a high-heeled shoe from the side and threw it at the back of Song Yue’s head.
"Ow," Song Yue clutched the corner of her forehead, blood streaming out through her fingers.
Turning around in anger, the look on her face immediately shifted to a triumphant smile upon seeing the person standing at the entrance: "What a coincidence."
Song Yue did find it very coincidental; she had someone widely report her relationship with Jun Mochan during this period.
Yet the person in front of her seemed as if she was blind, showing no reaction, as if she couldn’t see at all.
Just as Song Yue was pondering how to draw her attention, she herself showed up—how couldn’t it be a coincidence?
This must mean even the heavens were helping her.
Ye Ranran’s gaze moved from her face to Jun Mochan’s, and finally back to her own: "Not a coincidence, I don’t want to see you."
If possible, she wished Song Yue would disappear from her sight immediately.
Song Yue, clutching her head, collapsed into Jun Mochan’s arms: "She yelled at me."
"Ranran, you go back first," said Jun Mochan, steadying Song Yue.
His arm wrapped around her, holding her partially in his embrace.
That embrace used to be hers, hers alone, and now was it to be shared with someone else?
Ye Ranran’s hands clasped together, her voice without the slightest ripple: "I trust you, but I need an explanation."
