Chapter 1231: Chapter 1154: Who is She Missing?

"At least an hour." Shen Yuzhe brewed himself a cup of tea, then asked Jun Mochan, "Would you like some?"

"No, thanks." How could he possibly feel like drinking tea at a time like this?

Shen Yuzhe wasn’t pushy. He found a movie to watch.

Although he kept the volume low, the house was so small, and since he was watching a comedy, Ye Ranran found it hard not to burst into laughter.

"Could you watch somewhere else?" Jun Mochan spoke up.

"But I need to keep an eye on her. What if something happens to her somewhere else?"

"Then change the movie."

"Alright." Shen Yuzhe switched begrudgingly to a tragedy that moved Ye Ranran to tears.

"Can’t you just stop watching?" Jun Mochan wiped tears from Ye Ranran’s eyes.

"No, I can’t. It’s almost at the end. You have to let me finish." This was his only hobby; please don’t deprive him of that.

"You, a grown man, watching this sort of..." Jun Mochan was utterly disdainful.

Is there no dignity left?

"I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, I don’t play games. Can’t I just watch a movie to relax? This is all the joy I get from life; without it, all that’s left is bleakness."

For a moment, Jun Mochan was at a loss for words.

"Go ahead." Ye Ranran sobbed.

He was always here alone, nobody to keep him company. It was quite lonely. Watching a movie really wasn’t a crime.

"Don’t cry. It’s all fake." Jun Mochan sighed. He never realized before how easily she cried.

Ye Ranran didn’t want to cry; it was all because of the pain. Embarrassed, she used the moment to cry openly under the guise of being moved.

With ten minutes left, Jun Mochan was called away by Ah Bo. Ye Ranran silently counted the time in her mind.

Once the movie ended, Shen Yuzhe picked up his tea and asked, "Now that it’s over, any thoughts?"

"You’re asking me?"

"Is there a third person here besides you and me?" Shen Yuzhe took a sip of his tea.

Ye Ranran nudged toward the dog beside her, "I thought you were asking it."

Shen Yuzhe: "..." She must be teasing him.

He had thought that once the acupuncture was done, that would be the end of it. Unexpectedly, Shen Yuzhe brought out a pack of medicine: "Rest a bit, I’ll go get you a glass of water. Wait for it to cool before taking the medicine."

Ye Ranran was stunned. Watching Shen Yuzhe walk out, she brought her index finger and thumb together, lifting the bag of medicine to weigh it.

"What are you doing? Don’t drop it." Shen Yuzhe, returning with the water, snatched the medicine from Ye Ranran’s hands.

Ye Ranran swallowed nervously: "I mean, you’re likely to lose my trust this way."

"Heh, I’m no young master, and I’m not important to you." Shen Yuzhe set the water on the table.

"That’s not really for me to take, is it?" Ye Ranran asked with difficulty.

After consuming that entire big pack of medicine, she’d probably become sick even if she wasn’t already.

"Just think about it. When the time comes, you just need to take three pills." Shen Yuzhe held up three fingers.

"That’s a relief. You scared me there." Ye Ranran patted her chest.

Shen Yuzhe was amused by her reaction. A charming smile graced his elegant features, blooming like a lotus, blazing yet not bewitching. His cold, stunning smile overlapped with the shadow in his mind.

Watching Ye Ranran look like she wanted to cry but dared not, Shen Yuzhe stifled his laughter: "What’s wrong?"

"Nothing." Ye Ranran averted her gaze.

"Are you seeing someone through me?" The nostalgia in her eyes was clearly longing for someone.
