Chapter 1227: Chapter 1150: She Came to See Him

Opening the door, Jun Mochan saw Ye Ranran sitting in a chair, gently rocking the cradle while humming.

The sunlight slanted through the window, casting a soft and sacred glow over her. Jun Mochan stood at the door, afraid to disturb the atmosphere.

Feeling the gaze on her, Ye Ranran turned her head and saw Jun Mochan holding the doorknob, looking a bit odd as he stood by the door. "What are you doing standing there?"

"Listening to you sing." Jun Mochan walked in, closing the door behind him.

"Have you named him yet?" Ye Ranran touched the baby’s face with her finger, and he immediately grinned.

"Grandpa has been flipping through the dictionary lately."

The person most excited about the child’s birth was Grandpa Jun. From the day the child was born, he had been thinking about a name, but was never satisfied, which delayed the process and left the baby without a name to this day.

"Then let’s just call him Baby for now." Ye Ranran touched his face again. "How about that, Baby?"

Baby naturally couldn’t respond to her and just kept smiling.

"Let’s go eat breakfast. We’ll come see him later," Jun Mochan said.

Ye Ranran obediently stood up, letting Jun Mochan lead her forward.

Their fingers brushed against each other and then interlocked tightly.

"Do you remember the promise you made to me last time?" When they reached the room door, Ye Ranran asked.

Jun Mochan paused his steps. "Of course I remember, I’ll take you there after breakfast."

"Mhm, okay."

The grave of Song Ze was within the Song Family’s burial site, guarded by someone, but somehow Jun Mochan managed it so that she encountered no obstacles on her way in.

"I’ll wait here, you go ahead." Jun Mochan stood at the side of the road.

Ye Ranran nodded and continued walking forward.

At the grave, there was already someone waiting, but Ye Ranran acted as if she didn’t see them and placed the lilies she had brought in front of the tombstone.

In the photo, Song Ze’s expression was still serious and distant, above worldly concerns.

In fact, Ye Ranran felt that lilies didn’t suit him, but there was no better choice.

"Ye Ranran, you still have the face to come here?" Gu Yan looked at her with resentment.

"I think he would have preferred to see me," Ye Ranran softly replied, looking at the photo on the tombstone.

"He didn’t want anything to do with you while he was alive, and he wouldn’t want to see you now that he’s dead."

That remark sent Gu Yan fleeing in panic.

No matter how much she refused to accept it, she couldn’t deny that Ye Ranran was more important to Song Ze.

He was willing to die for her.

Such a cold person, yet willing to die for her.

How ridiculous.

"Alright, no one’s disturbing us now, let’s have a proper talk." Ye Ranran leaned against the tombstone and sat down.

"When you were foolish, I had a lot to say to you, but after you got better, it seems I never really had a good chat with you. I’m not even sure what to say now." Ye Ranran wiped the photo with her hand, cleaning the scant dust off it.

"I’m sorry about last time, leaving you there. It wasn’t intentional, don’t be mad at me." Ye Ranran poked his face.

But all that was within reach was no longer warm but cold, just like his body that had gradually cooled that day.

"It’s been so long now; any anger should have passed. I have a child now, a boy. I’ve been in confinement recently and couldn’t come to see you."

"By the way, I forgot to bring something today. I owe you a meal, next time I’ll bring some food, consider it payment, so you can’t say I broke my promise again, okay?" Ye Ranran rested her head against his tombstone.
