"I told you not to handle Song Er’s matter like that," Elder Jun said, thumping his cane on the ground.

"I have no regrets," he implied that if given another chance, he would still make the same decision; it’s just that he would never allow Ye Ranran to leave the house again.

Elder Jun sighed.

"The parturient lacks strength; it’s likely she cannot deliver naturally. A cesarean section, then?" the doctor inquired, exiting the operating room with a file in hand.

"Yes, a cesarean section," Jun Mochan swiftly signed the paper.

As the doctor left, a nurse sneakily took out a needle and injected something into Ye Ranran’s hand.

Ye Ranran was already in too much pain to feel it; that small prick was nothing but a tickle to her.

The doctor returned, threw the file aside: "Prepare the anesthetic injection for the cesarean."

The baby was soon taken out, weighing over five pounds. Due to prematurity, he was placed in an incubator—it was a boy.

Jun Mochan stood outside, watching the child kick his legs, smiling happily.

The doctor mentioned that, if carried to term, the baby would weigh over seven pounds and be very healthy.

After a while, Jun Mochan left; Ye Ranran remained lying on the hospital bed.

The doctor said her body was weak to begin with, and the rain she got caught in today, coupled with the childbirth, might cause lasting health issues.

Inside, he couldn’t help but blame her, yet he also didn’t know how to start.

In her sleep, Ye Ranran’s brows were still furrowed; Jun Mochan reached out to smooth them.

He felt it was truly ironic; the sins he committed all seemed to have come back to haunt Ye Ranran instead.

After sleeping for an entire day and night, Ye Ranran finally woke up, and Jun Mochan was wiping her hands.

"Awake now? Do you feel discomfort anywhere?"

Aside from some pain in her abdomen, Ye Ranran shook her head, indicating no other issues, "How is the baby?"

"In the incubator, over five pounds. The doctor says he’s doing much better than many premature babies; we’ll be able to hold him in a couple of days." After wiping her hands, Jun Mochan started to wipe her face.

"I’m sorry." It wouldn’t have come to this if not for her willfulness.

Jun Mochan sighed, "Don’t apologize; you’ve done nothing wrong."

If even going out for shopping was a mistake, then he truly had no idea what a mistake was.

"And the issue with Song Ze wasn’t something you wanted to happen." He knew that she least of all wanted such an event to occur.

At the mention of Song Ze, tears began to reappear in Ye Ranran’s eyes.

Remembering the recent events, she felt exceptionally cruel.

"Don’t cry," Jun Mochan wiped away her tears.

"I’m sorry for him," Ye Ranran sobbed into Jun Mochan’s embrace, "He had asked me to invite him for a meal last time, and I didn’t go. If I had known what would happen today, I would have gone for sure."

"Stop thinking about it; none of this is your fault," Jun Mochan could only offer her such consolation.

"Young Master," a servant entered, holding a lunch box.

"Give it to me," Jun Mochan took the lunch box from the servant’s hands.

He opened the lid, and immediately the fragrance of porridge filled the room, "I had someone make some porridge; have a little."
