Chapter 1215: Chapter 1338: Will Not Be Grateful to Him

Song Ze chuckled, "When did I ever ask for your gratitude?"

His heart wasn’t without disappointment, but the response was expected. This woman, heartless as she was, could be crueller than him.

At least he still held onto that last bit of warmth in his palm, whereas she had completely left.

"Why would you..."

"Considering you were kind to me before, I’m just repaying you," Song Ze interrupted her, clearly not wanting to hear what she might say next.

Ye Ranran found herself at a loss for words. It sounded logical, but on further thought, it made no sense.

Ah Ze from the Song Family shouldn’t be like this.

"It’s better if you stayed the way you used to be; it’s what I’m used to." Stop changing like this; it makes her prone to illusions, mistaking him for that foolish boy.

And then she would unintentionally get close.

"Like how? How do you want me to be?" Song Ze pressed closer.

Ye Ranran stepped back, "Let’s talk this out properly."

"Why are you afraid of me, Ranran? I won’t do anything to you." Noticing the arms crossed in front of her, Song Ze stopped moving forward.

"I’m not afraid of you; it’s just that I am a married woman now. I need to avoid improprieties." Ye Ranran gave a slight smile, "I need to go back now, goodbye."

Song Ze quickly grabbed her hand. Ye Ranran pulled away forcefully, but he held on even tighter.

One narrowed his eyes, flames flickering within, almost itching to chop Song Ze’s hand off.

"What are you trying to do?" Ye Ranran’s brows were sharp as knives, her cold glare sparkling.

"Didn’t you say you wanted to thank me last time?"

"When..."

"Or did I help you and you plan to leave it at that? Then you owe me one," Song Ze said, slightly curling the corner of his lips.

"Just say what you want to say all at once," Ye Ranran forced a smile.

"I don’t plan to do anything, just join me for a meal and we’ll call it even for last time, how about that?"

Ye Ranran didn’t immediately respond to him. A meal, after all, seemed to be to her advantage, but Jun Mochan was still waiting for her at home.

If she were to dine out with Song Ze, he would be upset again.

"I have something going on today, it’s not convenient, let’s do it another day." Ye Ranran pondered for a moment, "Don’t worry, I won’t forget what I promised you."

"Then remember, Ranran, you still owe me a meal."

It was only after Ye Ranran’s car was out of sight that Song Ze withdrew his gaze.

Subsequently, Ye Ranran got busy again—embroidery, the studio, the film crew, and the wedding.

Luckily everything was well-organized, otherwise, she really would be overwhelmed.

And so, the day of the wedding came.

To maintain order at the venue, security was tight everywhere in the hotel; even the police were deployed, not to mention the covert agents from Jun’s family.

Initially, Ye Ranran wanted to stay in their city house that night, but Jun Mochan disagreed.

She argued fiercely with him but lost. To conquer her, he even brought Grandfather Jun into the debate.

The grandfather and grandson took turns persuading her, buzzing like two big flies near her ear.

Ye Ranran didn’t expect Grandfather Jun to be so persuasive. Normally he was direct and concise, yet at a crucial moment, he could lend Jun Mochan a helping hand.

Outnumbered, Ye Ranran had to compromise.

Thus, she ended up waking Jun Mochan early in the morning.

At six in the morning, Jun Mochan lifted Ye Ranran’s blanket and pulled her up.

"Don’t get up." Ye Ranran could barely open her eyes.

She refused to get out of bed.

"If you won’t get up, that’s fine; I’ll help you." Jun Mochan fetched Ye Ranran’s clothes from the wardrobe.
