Chapter 1210: Chapter 1333: Still Want to Marry Her?

On the other side was Old Master Jun, accompanied by someone.

Back then, Jun Mochan had not yet developed his deep and cunning demeanor; though his grace was just beginning to form, his brows and eyes were as picturesque as ever, and he was as gentle as jade.

She watched him like that, forgetting to react, and by the time she came to her senses, he was already gone.

She couldn’t get any information out of the others, was too scared to ask her brother, and ended up delaying it.

Eventually, she slowly forgot about it, until she saw him again.

That was when she learned his name was Jun Mochan.

That very name that even her brother was deeply wary of.

Gu Heng listened silently, unsure of how to respond. In fact, he didn’t even understand why Song Yue was telling him all this.

Could it be that she had been heartbroken and was looking for him to comfort her?

But he didn’t know how to do that, and what right did he have to comfort her?

"Talking to you about this isn’t to get your comfort. It’s just to tell you that when I saw him, I didn’t go up to him, and later when I wanted to, I no longer had the chance," Song Yue shrugged nonchalantly, "I’ve decided to give up on him."

"So what now?" Gu Heng asked, looking adorably clueless.

Song Yue looked at him in disbelief. Had she not made herself clear enough, and he still didn’t understand what she meant?

"So now I’m single again. I won’t do anything rash and will obediently follow my family’s arrangements." She thought her hint was obvious. He should understand, right?

So hurry up and marry her.

"That’s probably for the best. The family won’t deceive you. Sometimes being too persistent isn’t good." It only made things tough for her and put pressure on others.

Such a bad deal.

And now what? Song Yue looked at Gu Heng expectantly.

Gu Heng felt uncomfortable under her gaze, so he turned his head to the side to avoid her eyes.

"And now what?" Song Yue persisted.

"Now what?" Gu Heng was utterly confused.

Did he mean that was it? Just like that?

"Why won’t you marry me? Don’t you like me?" Song Yue couldn’t hold back any longer.

Were all his confessions of affection just lies? A deception.

"Indeed, I do like you, but you don’t like me," Gu Heng replied, puzzled by her question, "How could I marry you then?"

"If I don’t like you, can’t you make the effort to change that?" she challenged. Was this the time to back down? Was he a coward?

"I have tried." Hadn’t he pursued her? But she had never given him any attention.

He had done many foolish things. Once, she wanted sweet dumplings, but how could they get them in such a remote border area? He drove ten kilometers just to buy them.

After buying them, he returned to find she had left, and not only did he get soaked in the rain like a drenched chicken, he also got punished for sneaking out.

From then on, he realized he cared for her as one would cherish a treasure, but in her eyes, he was less than a blade of grass.

"So I haven’t fallen for you yet, that means you’re not trying hard enough," Song Yue stamped her foot.

How could he give up on her like that, without even a clear rejection? It really was too much.

"Say whatever you want," Gu Heng didn’t want to argue too much.

She could think whatever she liked. The outcome was already sealed.

If saying so would make her a bit happier, then so be it.

"You’re really an idiot," Song Yue was nearly driven mad by him, "I’m asking you now, do you still want to marry me?"

"Let me put it this way, if I really have to marry you, would you marry me?" Song Yue decided to cut to the chase.
