Chapter 1208: Chapter 1331: Nothing Inappropriate
Ye Ranran and Jun Mochan exchanged glances."She’s asking you out either because she wants you to marry her, or she wants to teach you a lesson, though the latter is unlikely," Jun Mochan said, his eyebrow slightly raised and a faint smile skimming Gu Heng.
"Why?" From his perspective, the latter seemed very possible.
"Because if she really wanted to do something to you, she would have just done it without making the extra effort to call you first," Jun Mochan reasoned convincingly.
After careful thought, Gu Heng agreed it made sense.
"I’ll go take a look. Let’s talk next time," Gu Heng said as he picked up his clothes from nearby.
"Alright."
Jun Mochan and Ye Ranran saw him to the door.
"Call me if anything comes up," Jun Mochan said, patting his shoulder.
"Don’t worry, I definitely won’t be polite about asking for your help if I really need it," Gu Heng waved back.
Witnessing Gu Heng’s retreating figure, Ye Ranran sighed, "Your friend is a man of integrity, indeed not suited to be with Song Yue."
Song Yue was someone with many schemes and high standards who had always lived a life of luxury, while Gu Heng had mostly been in the military.
He was accustomed to frugality and disapproved of many shady dealings.
She couldn’t even begin to imagine how these two could build a life together.
"Love, there’s nothing about suitability, just like his love for Song Yue." That Gu Heng would fall for a lady like Song Yue was beyond belief.
If anyone had told him before that Gu Heng would fancy a wealthy girl like Song Yue, he would never have believed it even if they beat him to death.
Now, when it came to himself, he felt that love was elusive; nobody could say for certain.
"That’s true. Do you think Song Yue really had a change of heart, or did she suddenly realize that she loves him?" Ye Ranran asked.
Before Jun Mochan could answer, his phone rang.
He picked up the phone, "Ah Bo, bring the documents to my place. I’ll deal with the non-urgent ones tomorrow."
Now that J.C. was back on track and Ye Ranran’s belly was growing day by day, Jun Mochan was taking a lot of time off to be with her.
"Who’s Ah Bo?" She was puzzled why she didn’t know about this person in his life.
"My new assistant." Without an assistant, he’d only been able to make use of his secretary, but generally, his five secretaries were meant for liaising with major clients.
They really weren’t familiar with some of the documents.
"You found one?" Ye Ranran hadn’t expected that someone would meet his stringent requirements.
Being on call 24/7 was the easy part; the key was to memorize and recite the company’s code of conduct within a week, be responsive to emergencies, and have some legal knowledge.
But the rewards were indeed very generous, as could be seen from Ah Chuan’s example.
Moreover, after working under Jun Mochan for two years, one wouldn’t worry about finding a job later; headhunters would likely be vying for them.
"Of course."
"I have a few girls under me, why don’t we set up a mixer with your company when we have time?" It was worth a try if they could match a couple.
Jun Mochan popped a plum candy into Ye Ranran’s mouth, "I didn’t know Ranran liked playing matchmaker so much."
Always trying to match others.
"Just a suggestion, plus it’s a form of benefit, right?" Sorting out the employees’ personal lives would allow them to work better.
Instead of having their minds wander.
"That does seem somewhat reasonable," Jun Mochan pondered.
It was already a very good idea, Ye Ranran huffed.
Ah Bo, real name Liu Bo, was like a young poplar tree—tall and thin, and quiet, quite a match for Ah Chuan.
