Chapter 1156: Chapter 1179: Afraid She Might Despair

Ye Ranran couldn’t cheer up even after getting back into the car.

"Go ahead and cry if you want," One said, glancing at her through the rearview mirror.

"Cry for what?" She was just feeling a bit down.

As people grow older, there are always so many helplessnesses, always so many things to give up.

If it were her childhood, she would definitely have clung to Song Ze’s waist, refusing to let go no matter what.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t her childhood anymore; she had grown up and knew what she should and shouldn’t do.

"Actually, madam did the right thing," One mused after a long silence.

It was better for everyone now rather than later when the matter could be blown out of proportion, making it difficult for everyone involved.

Moreover, as time went on, the conflict between the two families would only worsen, making it impossible for her to betray the Jun family or for Song Ze to defect from the Song family.

Hence, cutting ties was better for both parties.

"I know that, but knowing what to do is one thing, and what my heart feels is another," she reflected, where logic and emotion were always separate.

That’s why so many people live lives not as they wish. If only everyone could follow their feelings, how wonderful that would be.

Song Ze stopped talking. Ye Ranran was a smart person who had already made her decision, and there was no need for him to say more.

By the time she returned, Jun Mochan was already waiting.

"Where have you been so late?" Jun Mochan stepped forward, a frown of annoyance in his eyes.

"Just went out for a walk, didn’t do much." Ye Ranran’s demeanor remained listless; she wasn’t in the spirit and naturally didn’t feel much like dealing with him.

Jun Mochan sensed something was wrong and reached out to touch her forehead. "What’s wrong? Are you sick? Feeling unwell?"

Ye Ranran pushed his hand away. "I’m going to take a shower first, you guys chat."

She knew One would tell Jun Mochan.

She really couldn’t bother to repeat it all.

After hearing the whole story, Jun Mochan finally understood, but he felt a twinge of jealousy.

Ye Ranran actually cared about Song Ze that much, more than he had imagined.

When Ye Ranran came out of the shower, she found Jun Mochan unusually sitting on the bed waiting for her.

"Are we having a heart-to-heart talk?" Ye Ranran climbed into the bed.

Jun Mochan helped her take off her shower cap, revealing lustrous, silky hair.

"Just wanted to ask you, are you still feeling sad?" Jun Mochan lifted her face, forcing her to look at him.

Ye Ranran pushed his hand away. "Speak without touching."

"I’ll touch you if I want to, what about it?" Jun Mochan pinned Ye Ranran underneath him, his hands securing hers beside her body.

Ye Ranran rolled her eyes. "Aren’t you being childish?"

"You haven’t answered my question yet."

"I was feeling a bit sad, but seeing you, I’m not sad anymore." She knew that if she was unhappy, he would definitely feel the same.

"Really?" Jun Mochan scrutinized her face, seemingly searching for signs of deception.

Ye Ranran nodded. "Really, seeing how much you care about me, I’m too happy to feel otherwise."

Jun Mochan let go of Ye Ranran. "You did that on purpose, didn’t you?"

Pretending to be like that just to get his attention.

Ye Ranran admitted, "Yes, I wanted to see how much you cared about me."

Jun Mochan lay beside her on the bed. "Initially I was a bit worried, afraid you might take it badly."

Ye Ranran, being deeply sentimental, had always considered Song Ze as family, how could she bear to let him go?

When he left originally, she was indeed very upset.
