Chapter 1125: Chapter 1148: About to Completely Lose Her
The two wandered around for a while and spotted a temple nearby, with a large banyan tree in front, its branches heavy with wishing plaques.
"Let’s go have a look," Luo Qi said enthusiastically.
"Okay, just walk slowly," Lin Yan followed behind her.
It was a Guanyin temple with a few people offering incense inside. The altar was set with several plates of fruit, and the statues were immaculately clean, evidently well-maintained.
Luo Qi took three sticks of incense: "Let’s also pay our respects."
"Do you have something you wish for?" Guanyin was rumored to be very effective, so was she trying to ask for something her heart deeply desired?
"Just for health." She really had no particular wishes, she just hoped Luo Xuan, herself, and Lin Yan would all be healthy.
Having lit the incense, Luo Qi kneeled on the cushion and bowed reverently, her demeanor extraordinarily devout.
Lin Yan watched her from the side.
After she finished offering the incense, they stood under the banyan tree outside the temple.
"Want to write one?" They asked simultaneously.
After speaking, they both laughed.
"We came all this way, might as well write one," they said at the same time again.
"Can’t believe how in sync we are," Lin Yan’s face and eyes were filled with smiles.
Luo Qi didn’t know how to respond and remained silent.
The pair bought two wishing plaques at a nearby shop and began writing each other’s wishes.
"What’s your wish?" Luo Qi leaned over to look.
"You show me yours first then I’ll show you mine." Lin Yan covered his with his hand.
"No, you show me yours first then I’ll show you mine," Luo Qi also tightly guarded her plaque in her arms.
"Alright, I’ll show you." Lin Yan, feeling helpless, opened his plaque for Luo Qi to see.
The words were simple, just the names of Lin Yan and Luo Qi, nothing else.
"Why didn’t you write something like ’I really love you’, huh?" Luo Qi asked knowingly.
"If you don’t think it’s cheesy, I can add it right now," Lin Yan picked up the pen, pretending to write.
"Ah, never mind." If he really wrote that, she couldn’t handle it.
He just knew, Lin Yan looked at the plaque in her hands.
Luo Qi held it up in front of him: "Take a look."
The words were also simple: May everyone nearby be safe.
"That seems a bit perfunctory," Without writing it out, how would the Bodhisattva know whom to keep safe?
"There are too many names, couldn’t write them all, ah well, the Bodhisattva knows, don’t fuss so much," Luo Qi was nonchalant.
After writing, the pair hung their plaques among the many others.
"Alright, let’s head back," Lin Yan took Luo Qi’s hand.
Luo Qi nodded compliantly.
As they walked back the way they had come, Luo Qi never looked back, naturally unable to see the person who had been standing behind her all along.
Ah Chuan watched her leave, his eyes filled with blatant despair.
For some reason, he always felt that this time he was going to lose her completely.
No matter what he tried, it was beyond salvage.
Only when Luo Qi’s figure was out of sight did Ah Chuan walk towards the banyan tree, standing where the pair had stood.
One by one, he slowly flipped through the plaques, not knowing how long he had been at it until he finally found the familiar handwriting.
"Safe," a simple wish, yet without specifying who should be safe—could he dare to hope that she wished him safety as well?
Then he searched for Lin Yan’s plaque, and upon seeing what was written, he decisively tossed it into the trash.
