Chapter 1117: Chapter 1140: The Invitation

Ye Ranran’s face soured; she knew that because of the doctor’s words, she was going to suffer again.

"What’s with that expression?" Jun Mochan pinched her face.

"Thinking about being fattened up like a pig for months by you all, what expression should I have?" A very miserable expression, alright?

"I just wish you didn’t give me this opportunity," Jun Mochan sighed with regret.

Ye Ranran: "..."

When they returned home, Mother Huo had not yet left. She handed a pile of invitations to Jun Mochan: "They’ve just been printed today."

Then she handed the guest list to Ye Ranran: "Here’s the guest list, all well-acquainted with the Jun and Huo families. You can handle your family’s side of things."

The latter part of her statement was delivered with hesitation. In reality, it was just a formality. After all, whether they were actually invited was one thing, but whether it was mentioned was another.

She didn’t want to seem disrespectful by not saying anything, but she was worried that saying it might make Ye Ranran overthink.

"There aren’t many people left on my mother’s side, no need," Ye Ranran said quite straightforwardly, her smile undiminished.

But her attitude made Mother Huo a bit sad: "Ranran, you..."

"I’m fine. Everyone knows this, and it’s been so many years." Any sadness had long since passed; now, she was happy.

It was just a bit far; she couldn’t return to offer more incense to her mother.

"When my child is born, I’ll go back and visit my mom. I think she’ll be happy." If there was anything worth concern from back home, it was her mother.

The memory of her, a woman with a loving face, always wearing a crescent-shaped smile.

"Yeah, I’ll go back with you then," Jun Mochan hugged her tightly.

"I’ve already delegated my work, and the artworks are almost done. I’ll write the invitations," Ye Ranran said as she tried to take the stack from Jun Mochan’s hands after getting back to their room.

Jun Mochan tightened his grip just enough to prevent her from immediately taking the invitations: "What about your column?"

"That’s almost finished too; anyway, there aren’t many people," Ye Ranran didn’t let go either.

Jun Mochan chuckled: "Not many people? You might want to check the invitation list first."

Ye Ranran stopped trying to grab them and instead flipped through the list, her eyes blurring over the long pages.

"How can there be so many." He was joking, right?

"With both the Jun and the Huo families alone, there’s already not a few. Add in some foreign dignitaries, plus my business colleagues and partners, and other influential figures, it definitely totals over nine hundred." He wanted to throw a big event, naturally hoping for as many people as possible.

"Isn’t that a bit excessive? Is it really appropriate?" Ye Ranran was somewhat shocked.

With everything in turmoil, wasn’t he afraid of attracting criticism by making such a lavish display?

"Don’t worry, I earned this money myself, I haven’t misappropriated any public funds. I’m not afraid even if the Song Family were to investigate," everyone knew he was an entrepreneur.

Why would he not have the money for a wedding?

Alright then, Ye Ranran didn’t know what to say.

"But I still hope I can write the invitations." In the wedding held by her family, he had taken care of everything, and she hadn’t done anything.

This time, she wanted to do something within her power.

"Can we each write half?" Jun Mochan finally compromised.

This was his biggest concession. If he noticed her getting too tired, he wouldn’t let her do even this.

"Alright."

So, Ye Ranran divided her time in two, using the first part to finish her works and the second part to write the invitations.
