Chapter 1093: Chapter 1116: Really Thankful to Her
"If only we had an electric saw here," Chu Ji lamented.
Without tools, all the skill in the world was useless.
One pulled a saw from the stolen goods and started sawing the iron. Just as it touched the surface, a whistling sound came from behind.
A flying dart, shot from nowhere, sped straight towards them.
With a large hand, Chu Ji caught the back of Ye Ranran’s head and pressed it down, so the dart whizzed past the back of his hand.
Before Ranran could ask, a muffled groan sounded beside her.
Just when the attack had ceased, a new wave came hurtling towards them.
It was unclear how long it lasted, but after One and Chu Ji were each hit by one or two darts, the dart attack finally stopped.
"Are you guys all right?" Ranran looked at them with considerable anxiety.
Compared to their blood-stained bodies, she was spotless, except for some dust that had settled on her from crouching down.
One and Chu Ji hadn’t the chance to answer when footsteps approached from the side.
Ranran immediately looked over with alarm to see Song Yue coming, hands casually in her pockets.
She wore harem pants and a bat-sleeve sweater, with sneakers on her feet. On a petite person not tall enough, this outfit would have shortened their stature by several centimeters.
Yet on Song Yue, it was just right. Indeed, the right frame can make any attire look good.
Ranran admitted she could never carry off such style; she was too slender, and without careful attention, even formal dresses would hang loose on her.
Even with all sorts of supplements, there were no significant results.
Which was why pregnancy was so hard.
The doctor said the real pain would come later.
Standing outside the iron cage, Song Yue stared intently at Ranran, who met her gaze with calm composure.
"Ye Ranran, the day has finally come when you’ve fallen into my hands," Song Yue said in her first statement to her.
"Yeah, are you happy about that?" Ranran’s face, dusty and with slightly smudged makeup, looked somewhat disheveled, but she remained calm and composed.
"Are you scared?" Song Yue didn’t like her demeanor, "At this point, what’s the point in pretending? Admit that you’re scared, and perhaps I’ll release you."
"Oh, really? If that’s the case, are you saying that if I beg you, you’ll let me go?" Ranran chuckled as if she had heard a great joke.
Her pregnancy news hadn’t been made public, Song Yue likely didn’t know, and Ranran didn’t dare take the risk, so she couldn’t show the slightest hint of cowardice or fear.
Any sign of weakness would give Song Yue an opportunity to exploit.
The woman was so astute, astute enough that Ranran admitted she was no match for her.
"I hadn’t considered it, but now that you’ve brought it up, I think it’s a good idea," Song Yue offered faux-kindly. "Kneel sincerely before me, knock your head on the ground, and I’ll let you out. How about that?"
Her henchmen brought a chair over, and Song Yue took a seat on it.
"I really should thank you. But has the Song Family not moved on from ancient times? What era is it that you’re still demanding someone to kowtow?" Ranran sneered.
"You either drink a toast or take the penalty," Song Yue’s tone chilled.
"Yeah, right, absolutely, if you’ve got what it takes, come and get me," Ranran provoked.
This was deliberate, for only if Song Yue opened the cage door would One and Chu Ji have a chance to act; otherwise, all talk was futile.
"What are you thinking? Don’t you think I don’t know?" Song Yue was indeed very shrewd.
But just as she was about to make a move on Ranran, One had his gun trained on her forehead: "I’m quite curious to find out if the guns of your men are faster, or mine."
