Chapter 1080: Chapter 1103: A Bit Emotional
"Don’t be mad," Jun Mochan pulled out a box from somewhere, opened it, and a gleaming light appeared in front of Ye Ranran.
The black gold moonstone was exquisitely crafted. Upon closer inspection, one could even see the patterns on it, like the glow of moonlight, subdued and flowing like water.
"Do you like it?" Jun Mochan picked it up.
Ye Ranran nodded her head, and quite consciously stretched out her hand.
Ye Ranran’s skin was very fair, setting each other off perfectly, and the moonstone’s demure beauty matched Ye Ranran’s temperament incredibly well.
"Now you’re not mad anymore, are you?" Jun Mo Lan wrapped his arms around Ye Ranran’s waist, and lowered his head enough that he could kiss her forehead with just one more step.
Ye Ranran wanted to step back a little, but Jun Mochan hugged her tighter: "Where do you think you’re running to? Where can you go if not into my arms?"
With a strong pull, Ye Ranran fell into his arms, her forehead just touching Jun Mochan’s lips.
"Throwing yourself into my arms?" Jun Mochan’s lips moved downwards.
"Stop it, I’m hungry," Ye Ranran pushed him away.
They were still in the restaurant, and if Old Master Jun came in, she wouldn’t be able to save face.
Jun Mochan turned the lights back on. He was not too fond of such romantic gestures; coming from a military background, he naturally preferred well-lit dining.
Ye Ranran didn’t like it either. In her opinion, dining by candlelight was nearly the same as eating in the dark; you couldn’t even see the dishes clearly. What if there were bugs in the food? Even if there weren’t any bugs, there could be mosquitoes.
It had to be said that this couple shared many similar habits.
After dinner, Jun Mochan took Ye Ranran for a walk.
It was still a bit cold in April, so Jun Mochan got a down jacket for Ye Ranran.
"Do I need to wear something this thick?" Ye Ranran’s mouth twitched.
It wasn’t winter; did she really need to wear so much?
"Yes, you do. Stop fussing or otherwise just stroll around inside." At least there’s heating, right?
Ye Ranran didn’t argue anymore.
The Jun family’s garden was vast, filled with all sorts of precious plants and flowers. In the spring, flowers bloomed in profusion, and the strong scent of blossoms drifted through the air.
Even from inside the room, you could smell them, let alone outside.
Ye Ranran and Jun Mochan walked hand in hand.
"How are Xu Zi’s funeral arrangements coming along?" asked Ye Ranran.
She hadn’t expected Xu Zi to end up on such a path; in reality, she never meant to pressure her.
"Her parents are handling it. Big brother went to see them and left them some money," Jun Mochan said without much emotion.
In his view, Xu Zi got what she deserved. She chose death herself; who else could she blame?
"Don’t overthink it; this has nothing to do with you," Jun Mochan tightened his grip on her hand.
"I know, I haven’t overthought it, just feeling a bit sentimental," Ye Ranran said. Such a vibrant life, gone in a blink of an eye.
After walking for another half-hour, they both headed back to their room.
After getting out from the shower, the phone rang. Ye Ranran picked it up to see that, as expected, it was Luo Qi calling.
At this time of night, it would only be Luo Qi calling her.
"Ranran, you passed the preliminary round, congratulations!" Luo Qi’s voice brimmed with excitement: "You’ll be world-famous soon."
"Don’t count your chickens before they hatch; it’s just the finals. Whether I can make it to the top three is still uncertain, let alone become world-famous." With so many competitors, standing out wasn’t easy at all.
"I’m rooting for you. Oh, right, have you prepared your entry for the preliminary round?"
"Not yet, there’s still a month, right? Just one piece is needed, so there’s no rush," Ye Ranran said casually.
