Chapter 1067: Chapter 1090: Barking Up the Wrong Tree

"Pregnant, you must take good care of yourself," Mo Han had come over unnoticed. "First, eat something light to fill your stomach, then we can have these."

"Ginger lamb congee then." He had asked the doctor just earlier, and it was effective in relieving morning sickness.

"Oh, okay." Mrs. Huo hastened to comply.

Holding a glass of water, Mo Han quickly passed it to Ye Ranran after she finished vomiting.

Ye Ranran rinsed her mouth until there wasn’t a hint of an odd taste left, then dried the water from around her lips.

Her lips were a bit pale, and the delicate makeup on her face couldn’t conceal her sickly appearance.

Mo Han furrowed his brows as he looked at her. His eyes, dark as ink, were so piercing that Ranran felt as if she was stripped bare standing before him.

Fearing his blame, she hadn’t told him about the fall and had warned Numbers Three and Four, so presumably no one had informed him.

"Do you feel very uncomfortable?" After watching her for a while, Mo Han finally spoke, his voice still gentle, like a breeze in March that brushed past the ear.

"A little," Ranran nodded honestly.

"I’ll help you to the living room to sit down," Mo Han offered, stepping forward to assist her.

Ranran smiled gently, "I can walk on my own."

Was she so delicate?

Mo Han, as if not hearing her, said, "The wedding date is set for a month from now. You won’t be showing much then, and you’ll still fit into the wedding dress."

He didn’t want Ranran to have any regrets, nor did he want to have any. He knew that Ranran had always been resistant to the idea of weddings.

Therefore, he was especially careful with the preparations this time, wanting to make up for any past regrets.

Regardless, he wanted to give her a grand, perfect wedding.

"Can’t we just not make a fuss?" Ranran was still apprehensive.

She had no longing for a wedding now; besides, she was living well, and with a child on the way, it didn’t matter to her whether or not there was a wedding.

Why make an effort for something so widely known?

But Mo Han was particularly insistent, "We won’t make a fuss."

"Don’t overthink it, just be a good bride," he said. After the wedding, no one would be able to gossip about not having received an invitation.

No one could say anything about her, except for that.

He wanted her to stand by his side, rightfully and openly.

Ranran didn’t understand his insistence, but since he had said so, she refrained from commenting further.

Soon, the congee was ready, and Mrs. Huo carried it out on a tray, "Try it."

It looked appetizing and smelled delicious, which whetted one’s appetite immediately.

Ranran took a bite and smilingly said, "It’s delicious. Mom, your cooking is really good."

"It was made by the chef." She had never made it before and didn’t want to risk making something unpleasant.

Ranran felt a bit embarrassed.

"Eat it while it’s hot, Mom won’t mind," Mo Han laughed.

Only he knew, as Ranran glanced at him sideways.

After finishing, Mrs. Huo and Mo Han insisted Ranran drink a big bowl of chicken soup before they let her be.

After consuming so much greasy food, Ranran felt a bit queasy but managed not to vomit.

Mo Han played with her slender fingers, "Now that you’re pregnant, you should rest at home properly and not go to work anymore."
