Chapter 1054: Chapter 1077: Don’t Even Give Him a Glance
Presumably, things weren’t going very well at work either.
After watching him for a while, Luo Qi was about to get up when a pair of arms suddenly wrapped around her waist.
"Let go," Luo Qi said, trying to pull away, but he caught her wrists instead.
"You aren’t drunk?" Surprise and anger filled Luo Qi’s eyes; he had tricked her deliberately.
The rage of being deceived and the resentment of the past surged to her heart, and her gaze filled with hatred when she looked at him.
How could he deceive her over and over again? He must think she was foolish and easy to fool, didn’t he?
"If I didn’t do this, would you have come to see me? Now, you won’t even give me a glance," Ah Chuan said, staring straight into her eyes, his intoxicated eyes betraying a hint of grievance.
Luo Qi didn’t understand what he had to feel aggrieved about. Hadn’t the situation they were in today been of his own making?
If he had shown her the slightest bit of affection back then, things wouldn’t have escalated to this point.
"What difference does it make if I look at you? Do you think we still have a chance?" Luo Qi tried to push him away but couldn’t move him.
"We do. Can you give me a chance to make it right, please?" Ah Chuan buried his head in her neck. "I’ll treat you well."
"I don’t need it anymore. Now someone wants to treat me well, and I also want to start over. You..."
She couldn’t finish her sentence because he silenced her.
Summer clothes were thin, and separated only by her sheer blouse, their skin touched, and Ah Chuan’s body heat flowed endlessly into Luo Qi.
His hands were like walls of bronze, immovable despite Luo Qi’s full strength.
Luo Qi looked bewildered until she suddenly felt a chill.
That woke her up.
Without thinking too much, Luo Qi swung her hand, and the pain made Ah Chuan stop.
Luo Qi took the chance to push him away.
His clarity returned slightly after her slap, and he looked at her in a panic: "Xiao Qi."
"Don’t ever show up in front of me again; I don’t want to see you." Luo Qi stormed out the door.
But she had barely left when Ah Chuan caught up to her, embracing her waist: "Xiao Qi, don’t go."
His words led Luo Qi to a complete misunderstanding, her eyes flaring with even more anger: "What do you mean?"
What did he take her for?
"No, it’s not like that. Please listen to me, let me explain, will you?" Ah Chuan begged.
"What’s there to explain at this point? Can you really say you didn’t orchestrate me being here? Can you say you weren’t pretending to be drunk just now?" What else was there to explain?
The facts showed that it was all a trap, treating her like a fool.
"Do you think it’s funny to play me? You think I’m an idiot, don’t you?" Now Luo Qi’s face held not just anger but also sadness.
"No, it’s not like that. I really didn’t play you. I just wanted to see you," he said plaintively, wanting her to see him.
"Today, you didn’t even look at me once, playing so happily with him," he said, noting every smile of hers.
It had been a long time since he had seen her so happy, and his heart felt bittersweet. On one hand, he was glad to see her smile again; on the other, it darkened his mood because the person making her smile wasn’t him.
He had thought about letting go, that her happiness was all that mattered. As long as she was happy, he was willing to step aside, but he realized he was wrong.
