Chapter 1032: Chapter 1056: How Could It Be Missing
Huo Yi could hardly believe his eyes as he looked at her. "What kind of game are you playing this time?"
It wasn’t that he was distrustful; the last time they talked about divorce, Xu Zi acted like she was going to die without him. This time she agreed so readily, it all seemed very suspicious.
"I’ve simply come to accept it. But I still want to ask, who’s that person in the prison?" Should she at least die with her eyes closed?
"Wen Liangshan." Huo Yi chuckled softly, his laughter sounding a bit sinister, as if it were emanating from the ground below.
Xu Zi didn’t know who Wen Liangshan was, but considering she pursued Huo Yi all the way into prison, she must be hopelessly in love with him.
Thinking of this, Xu Zi felt a pang of unwillingness, but she knew that clinging on would likely leave her with nothing in the end.
"Anything else you want to ask? If not, I need to rest." Huo Yi didn’t care about her changing expressions, and promptly showed her out.
"It’s our last night, let me stay with you," Xu Zi boldly stepped forward, wrapping her arms around his waist.
Huo Yi pried her hands off: "Xu Zi, can you have a little dignity?"
"Can’t we even say goodbye?" Tears wet the corners of Xu Zi’s eyes.
"What I detest the most is this act of yours. If you want to cry, go find some other man." Huo Yi was completely unmoved, his eyes full of impatience.
Xu Zi felt humiliated and left in tears.
"Aren’t you going to comfort her?" A head appeared at the window.
That head was hanging upside down.
Huo Yi just gave her a cold glance, with no intention of acknowledging her.
"After all the help I gave, aren’t you going to thank me?" Wen Liangshan twisted around, opened the window, and jumped inside.
How did these two get tangled up with each other? It’s a bit of a long story, but ultimately Wen Liangshan intended to take Huo Yi’s life and got involved with him following a mishap.
Having received a down payment, she had to do the job; otherwise, she wouldn’t get the rest of the money. Wen Liangshan wanted to settle things with Huo Yi in prison but never got the chance.
Even if she killed him, she couldn’t get away scot-free, so she had to wait for the right moment.
If she couldn’t get the money or benefit from it, naturally, she wouldn’t let anybody else do so. Therefore, she ended up protecting Huo Yi inside the prison.
The formidable jail guard that Song Er talked about was Wen Liangshan.
"Helping me? Are you sure you’re not just helping yourself?" Huo Yi began to unbutton his shirt.
He had a great physique, with chiseled abs—a classic case of looking lean with clothes on but muscular without them.
Wen Liangshan felt an urge to touch him, but ultimately she retracted her hands quietly.
"Why are you still here?" Huo Yi turned around and was about to remove his pants when he saw Wen Liangshan still standing there, his brow barely furrowing.
Was she planning to act shamelessly?
"I don’t mind, just go ahead," Wen Liangshan said as she sat down on the bed.
Huo Yi leaned forward, their eyes meeting and faces almost touching, his eyes dark as obsidian, exceptionally bright but with a piercing coldness.
Wen Liangshan felt goosebumps on her skin.
"Trying to get on top of me?" Huo Yi reached out, gently rubbing her face.
His hands were rough, calloused, the friction against her skin slightly painful.
"Seeing how it is, Sister won’t be at a loss. How about we have a go before you kill me?" Wen Liangshan placed her hand on Huo Yi’s chest.
It felt just as robust and resilient as she had imagined.
As Wen Liangshan was letting her thoughts drift, Huo Yi pulled a gun from his pocket, about to press it against her. Wen Liangshan grabbed his hand: "The mood is just right, Young Master Huo, don’t ruin it."
Huo Yi’s movement slowed down somewhat, but he didn’t completely stop: "At a time like this, how can we do without it, right, Liangshan?"
