Chapter 201: Let me fix it

As Remo gently helped Abby to sit on the edge of the bed, his concern evident in his actions, he couldn’t help but notice the discomfort written across her face.

"Do you want to change out of your clothes? It looks uncomfortable to sleep in," he offered, his voice soft and gentle.

Abby ignored him at first, standing up, she was determined to remove her dress on her own. But as she struggled with the zipper at the back, frustration mounting with each failed attempt, Remo reached out and took her hand, his touch gentle but firm as he helped her to remove the garment.

Abby’s breath caught in her throat as she felt Remo’s hands on her, his touch sending a jolt of electricity coursing through her veins. She clenched her fists, trying to ignore the heat that radiated from his chest as he stood behind her, his presence overwhelming in the small space of the room.

His hands smoothed over her shoulders, his touch sending waves of heat coursing through her body as he unhooked the straps of her dress.

Pressing her palms against her thighs, Abby tried to steady the trembling that wracked her body, the intensity of the moment overwhelming her senses.

Remo paused, his lips hovering tantalizingly close to her skin as he whispered softly, his words sending a shiver down her spine.

"You’re trembling, are you okay?" he murmured, his voice filled with concern.

Abby’s heart raced as she struggled to find her voice, the emotions swirling within her like a storm on the horizon. But as she opened her mouth to respond, all she could manage was a whisper, "I don’t know."

"Hmm—-relax—it’s just me."

Remo murmured , his touch gentle and comforting, Abby felt a wave of emotions wash over her. She bit down on the inside of her cheek, keeping her eyes tightly shut as goosebumps erupted across her skin at his every touch.

His hands smoothed down her waist, his touch sending shivers down her spine as he guided the fabric of her dress down until it pooled around her feet. Abby’s nervous breath hitched in her throat as his fingers brushed over the clasp of her bra, his voice a soothing whisper against her ear.

"God, I missed you."

With a gulp, Abby exhaled a wavering breath, her body trembling with anticipation as Remo shifted his touch, guiding each arm out of her bra straps with a gentle ease. She felt his fingers linger on the straps, his touch tender and comforting as he ghosted kisses across her skin.

The intimate gesture threatened to overwhelm Abby, her throat tightening with emotion as tears threatened to spill from her eyes. How could he be so caring and loving, even in the midst of their turmoil? How could her body still crave him like this when she’s supposed to hate him?

Remo fetched her nightwear from the wardrobe and urged her arms above her head, pulling it over her with a gentle ease. As he rubbed his hands up and down her arms, Abby felt a sense of comfort wash over her, his touch a soothing balm to her wounded soul.

As Abby let out a sigh, her voice cracking with emotion, she hung her head, unable to contain the slow tears that escaped from her, tracing a path down her cheeks like silent rivers of anguish.

"You really hurt me, Remo..." she confessed, her trembling voice quiet and small, filled with sadness that threatened to consume her.

Remo’s hands paused on her arms, his touch gentle yet hesitant as he seemed to hold his breath, his own emotions swirling beneath the surface like a tempest on the horizon.

Then, with a deep sigh, he snaked his arms around her waist, pulling her back tightly against his chest and burying his face against the crook of her neck.

They lingered there for a few moments, the only sound in the room the shaky sound of Abby’s breathing, before Remo let out another deep sigh, his lips pressing against her neck in a silent apology.

"I know," he murmured, his words a whisper against her skin, heavy with remorse and regret.

Remo’s brows furrowed in concern as he felt Abby’s trembling beneath his touch. Gently, he pulled away, turned her to face him as he brushed his fingers against her cheek, tilting her face towards him so he could look into her eyes.

But Abby brought her arms up around Remo, she buried her face in his neck, inhaling deeply, taking in his scent. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she cried silently in his arms.

Remo stayed wrapped around Abby, his arms a comforting embrace as she struggled to calm herself down. She felt embarrassed for crying in front of him, but the floodgates had opened, and she couldn’t hold back the tide of emotions any longer. Alcohol had a way of stripping away inhibitions, leaving her raw and vulnerable in its wake.

Remo eventually pulled her away gently , his gentle fingers smoothing over her cheeks to wipe away the dampness. He crouched down so their eyes were level, his gaze soft and filled with concern.

"Don’t cry, love," he murmured, cupping her jaw as the pads of his thumbs stroked across her cheeks.

Abby managed to settle herself down to the occasional sniff and sharp inhale, her eyes feeling tired and burning from letting tears get the better of her. She kept her gaze focused on Remo’s chest, afraid that if she looked into his eyes, she would be sucked back into the whirlwind of emotions that threatened to overwhelm her once again

When Abby finally looked up, her tear-stained face turned up to meet Remo’s gaze, she saw the sadness reflected in his eyes, a silent admission of the hurt he had caused her.

"I received pictures of you with another woman. I shouldn’t care since none of this is real—-but seeing you with someone else hurts so bad," she whispered, her voice barely above a murmur, her heart heavy with the weight of her words.

Remo’s expression softened, his eyes filled with remorse as he nodded, a silent acknowledgment of the pain he had inflicted.

"Let me fix it, please," he pleaded, his voice filled with sincerity. "I want to fix it. What can I do?"
