Chapter 200: Only Yours

Chapter 200: Only Yours

Abby’s breath caught in her throat as she turned and collided with someone, the force of the impact causing her to stumble backward.

Her heart lurched in her chest as she looked up, her eyes meeting the piercing gaze of Remo, who had just walked through the door, his expression a mix of surprise and concern.

"Abby?" Remo’s voice was a low, gravelly murmur, barely audible above the pounding music. His presence felt like a sudden jolt of electricity, sending a surge of adrenaline coursing through her veins.

Abby’s breath caught in her throat as she struggled to find her voice, the weight of his gaze pinning her in place like a moth caught in a spider’s web.

With his arms folded against his chest and his brows furrowed in a stern expression, Remo stared at Abby, his presence commanding and imposing.

"You’re back," Abby groaned, her frustration evident in her tone.

"Excuse me? It’s nice to see you too, Abby," Remo retorted, his voice laced with a hint of sarcasm.

Abby stumbled backward, her movements unsteady from the effects of the alcohol. Remo’s brows furrowed deeper, his lips pressing together in a tight line as he took a step towards her, a silent question in his eyes.

"How much have you had to drink?" Remo’s voice was firm, his concern evident despite his attempt to remain composed.

Abby pulled her face back, looking at him in disgust. "After all the hell you’ve put me through, you expect me to do mental gymnastics? Please, give me a break,"," she retorted, her words dripping with venom.

His nostrils twitched in annoyance, and before Abby could react, Remo took her hand and yanked her towards him, his grip firm and unyielding.

As Abby stumbled into him, Tony watched from the sidelines, his frown deepening as he observed the scene unfolding before him.

"Why did you get this drunk...?" Remo’s voice was steady, his tone even as he addressed Abby.

She shrugged her shoulders, a defiant tilt to her chin as she echoed his own words from a month ago. "I felt like it," she replied, her voice tinged with snide sarcasm.

"You’re angry at me," Remo stated, his voice calm and measured, as if stating an obvious fact.

Abby scoffed, shaking her head. "Of course not, why would I be? You can let other women touch you if you want—"

But Remo didn’t say anything, his silence speaking volumes as he continued to watch her with an inscrutable expression, leaving Abby to wonder what emotions lay hidden behind his unreadable gaze.

"Party’s over, ladies. I need to talk to my wife," Remo announced, his voice cutting through the music with authority.

Sophia let out a whistle. "Of course! We’ll leave you lovebirds alone. Abby, remember what I taught you," she said with a knowing grin, eliciting a flush of embarrassment from Abby.

Olivia’s glare intensified as she looked at Remo, her gaze piercing and cold. She was the most sober one among them, her displeasure evident in every line of her face.

"Birds of the same feathers flock together, huh?" Olivia remarked, her voice dripping with disdain as she glanced at Tony with disgust. Without another word, she pulled Sophia away, leaving Remo and Abby alone in the aftermath of the evening’s events.

As they left them alone, a heavy silence descended upon the room, leaving Remo and Abby standing alone in the center, their gazes locked in a tense standoff.

For a moment, neither of them spoke, the weight of unspoken words hanging heavily between them like a shroud. Remo’s jaw clenched as he struggled to find the right words to break the silence, his heart heavy with regret for the pain he had caused Abby.

Abby, for her part, met his gaze with a mixture of defiance and vulnerability, her emotions roiling beneath the surface like a turbulent sea.

Finally, Remo spoke, his voice quiet but tinged with remorse. "Abby, I... I’m sorry," he began, his words halting as he searched for the right way to express the regret that weighed heavily on his heart. Even though nothing had happened with Nicole, he had gone to meet her despite knowing how evil she was. He had given Nicole the opportunity to hurt his wife.

But before he could continue, Abby held up a hand, cutting him off with a steely resolve. "Save it, Remo," she said, her voice firm but tinged with sadness. "I don’t want to hear your apologies anymore."

Remo’s heart sank at her words, the pain in her eyes like a knife to his soul. He knew he had hurt her deeply, and he would give anything to make things right between them.

As Abby turned to walk away, her steps faltered, her unsteady gait betraying the effects of the alcohol coursing through her veins. With a sudden stumble, she lost her footing, her body pitching forward as she fell to the floor.

Remo’s heart lurched as he watched her tumble to the ground, a surge of adrenaline coursing through him as he rushed to her side.

"Abby, are you okay?" he asked softly, his voice filled with concern as he knelt beside her, his hands reaching out to gently help her sit up.

Abby shook her head, tears streaming down her face as she clutched at her arm, a pained expression etched on her features.

"It hurts, it hurts, it hurts," she muttered, her voice choked with emotion as she buried her face in her hands.

Remo’s heart clenched at the sight of her pain, a deep ache settling in his chest as he struggled to find the right words to comfort her.

Gently, he reached out and brushed a stray tear from her cheek, his touch tentative but filled with a tenderness he hadn’t realized he still possessed.

"I’m here, Abby," he whispered, his voice barely above a murmur as he wrapped his arms around her, offering her the solace of his embrace. "Nothing happened. I’m only yours."
