Chapter 195: Possessiveness
Sophia’s expression softened with sympathy as she listened to Abby’s words, a pang of sorrow echoing in her own heart at the pain her friend was experiencing. "What did you see?" she asked gently, her voice a comforting presence in the midst of Abby’s turmoil.
Abby took a shaky breath, her hands trembling as she reached for her phone, the images still burned into her memory like a searing brand. With trembling hands, she handed the device to Sophia, unable to bear the weight of the truth it held any longer
Sophia looked at the pictures, her brows furrowing in concern and recognition. It seemed like the photos were captured from a CCTV, but the woman in them looked oddly familiar. A sense of realization dawned on her, and her eyes widened in shock as she made the connection.
Abby watched Sophia’s reaction closely, her heart racing with anticipation. "Do... do you know who she is?" Abby’s voice trembled with a mixture of fear and hope as she waited for Sophia’s response.
Sophia took a deep breath, her mind racing as she considered her next words carefully. "Yes, I think I do," she admitted, her tone grave. "But can I give you some advice first?"
Abby’s brows furrowed in confusion, but she nodded, eager for any guidance Sophia could offer in navigating the turmoil of her emotions.
"Of course," Abby replied, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
Sophia paused, gathering her thoughts before speaking. "Before jumping to conclusions or making any decisions, I think you should talk to Remo," she suggested earnestly. "Communication is key in any relationship, and there may be more to this than meets the eye."
Abby’s heart clenched at the thought of confronting Remo, the pain of betrayal still raw and fresh in her mind. But deep down, she knew that Sophia was right. She couldn’t let her emotions dictate her actions without giving Remo a chance to explain.
With a shaky nod, Abby swallowed the lump in her throat, steeling herself for the difficult conversation that lay ahead. "You’re right," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "I... I need to talk to him."
"Yes, and it shouldn’t be on the phone," Sophia affirmed, her tone firm yet empathetic. "Wait for him to come home. I know it’s painful, but I’ve known Remo for years. He wouldn’t intentionally hurt you. He looks at you like you’re all he sees. He probably doesn’t even realize it, but he is in love with you. A man in love like Remo wouldn’t do anything that would make him lose you."
Abby absorbed Sophia’s words, feeling a glimmer of hope amidst the turmoil of her emotions. She nodded slowly, a faint flicker of determination igniting within her. "You’re right," she murmured, her voice tinged with both apprehension and longing. "I’ll wait for him."
Sophia offered Abby a reassuring smile, her eyes reflecting her unwavering support. "I know it’s difficult, but trust in the love you share," she encouraged, her words a beacon of solace in the darkness that threatened to consume Abby’s heart.
With a grateful nod, Abby took a deep breath, finding strength in Sophia’s words of wisdom. "Thank you, Sophia," she whispered, her voice filled with sincerity.
Sophia reached out, gently squeezing Abby’s hand in a gesture of solidarity. "Anytime, my dear friend," she said softly.
"Now go bathe. I have a couple of tricks I would love to teach you. We have to make Remo regret letting another woman touch him. How dare he!" Sophia’s playful tone contrasted with the seriousness of their conversation, but it brought a faint smile to Abby’s lips, warming her heart in the midst of her pain.
Abby’s cheeks flushed slightly at Sophia’s boldness, but she couldn’t help feeling grateful for her friend’s unwavering support. "O-kay," Abby replied, her voice still tinged with uncertainty but with a hint of determination.
Sophia smiled encouragingly at Abby as she stood up. "I’ll be waiting for you in the living room," she said, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
Abby rose from the bed once Sophia left, her movements deliberate, almost calculated, as she made her way to the mirror. In the reflection, her eyes held a fierce intensity, bordering on possessiveness, as she gazed at her own reflection.
As she scrutinized herself in the mirror, Abby couldn’t shake the gnawing sense of unease that gnawed at her insides. It wasn’t just love that fueled her; it was something deeper, more primal. Remo wasn’t just a man she loved; he was her everything, her reason for existing.
Her fingers traced the outline of her lips, the touch almost reverent as she thought of Remo. He consumed her thoughts, her dreams, her every waking moment. The idea of losing him to another woman ignited a fierce possessiveness within her, a darkness that threatened to consume her whole.
But amidst the turmoil, there was a part of Abby that relished in the power she held over Remo. The knowledge that he belonged to her, body and soul, sent a shiver of satisfaction down her spine after all very soon she would possess his heart too. She would do anything to keep him by her side, to ensure that he never strayed from her embrace.
As she tore her gaze away from the mirror, a smile played at the corners of her lips, tinged with a hint of darkness. Abby was prepared to go to any lengths to protect what was hers, to guard her territory against any intruders who dared to challenge her claim on Remo. And woe betide anyone who dared to stand in her way.
She had already gotten rid of some weeds standing in her way, and she wouldn’t mind clearing them again. Her lips curved up into a dark smile, a fleeting glimpse of a side of Abby that only few has ever seen . It was a smile tinged with a hint of darkness, a reflection of the fierce protectiveness she felt towards Remo and their relationship.
But just as quickly as the smile appeared, it vanished, replaced by a look of confusion. Abby blinked, her expression shifting back to one of innocence, as if she were momentarily unaware of the dark thoughts that had crossed her mind.
It was a subtle shift, barely noticeable to anyone but herself. But deep down, Abby couldn’t shake the feeling of disquiet that lingered within her. It was as if there were two sides to her, one that was fiercely devoted to Remo and would do anything to protect their love, and another that harbored a darker, more sinister edge.
