Chapter 194: Shattered
With a soft sigh escaping her lips, Abby slowly blinked her eyes open, greeted by the gentle rays of the morning sun filtering through her window curtains. The warmth of the sunlight danced across her face, coaxing a small smile to form on her lips. Today felt like it could be a good day.
With a sense of anticipation, Abby reached for her phone, her fingers tingling with excitement as she prepared to send Remo a cheerful good morning message. But as she unlocked her phone, her smile faltered, replaced by a furrowed brow of confusion.
An unfamiliar number had sent her a message. Abby’s heart skipped a beat as she hesitated for a moment before tapping on the notification. The message contained a couple of images, and a cold knot formed in the pit of her stomach as she waited for them to download.
When the pictures finally appeared on her screen, Abby’s heart sank like a stone in her chest. Her breath caught in her throat as she stared at the images before her.
The first picture depicted Remo with a blonde woman, her hand boldly placed on his crotch as she gazed at him with a flushed look on her face. Abby’s stomach churned with disbelief and hurt as she stared at the intimate scene captured in the photo. It felt like a physical blow to her heart, the pain radiating through her entire body.
Tears welled up in Abby’s eyes as she struggled to process the betrayal unfolding before her. She couldn’t tear her gaze away from the image, the sight of Remo with another woman burning into her memory like a brand. It felt like the world around her was crumbling, leaving her stranded in a whirlwind of confusion and heartache.
Unable to bear the agony any longer, Abby reluctantly swiped to view the second picture, bracing herself for what she might see next.
The second picture intensified Abby’s anguish. It showed the blonde woman on her knees in front of Remo, her fingers tracing his lap suggestively. Abby’s breath caught in her throat as she stared at the scene, her mind struggling to comprehend what she was seeing.
Pain lanced through Abby’s chest, sharp and relentless. It felt like the world had shifted beneath her feet, leaving her stranded in a sea of uncertainty. Betrayal washed over her in waves, each one crashing harder than the last.
For a moment, Abby sat there, frozen in disbelief, as the weight of reality settled heavily upon her shoulders. The images blurred before her tear-filled eyes, mocking her with their undeniable truth.
A wave of nausea swept over her, and she clutched her phone tightly, feeling as though her world had shattered into a million irreparable pieces. How could Remo do this to her? The man she loved, the man she trusted with her heart, was now captured in these damning images, betraying everything they had shared together.
Tears streamed down Abby’s cheeks as she struggled to control the overwhelming surge of emotions crashing over her. Anger, sadness, and betrayal intertwined within her, creating a tumultuous storm of feelings that threatened to consume her entirely.
Feeling numb and defeated, Abby dropped her phone onto the bed beside her, unable to bear the weight of the truth it held any longer. Her heart ached with a pain so profound that it felt like a physical ache in her chest. How could she face Remo now? How could she ever trust him again after this betrayal?
With a heavy heart, Abby buried her face in her hands, tears soaking her palms as she grappled with the shattered fragments of her once beautiful relationship. In that moment, the future felt uncertain and bleak, overshadowed by the devastating revelation that had rocked her to her core.

Abby doesn’t know how long she had been in bed until she heard someone open her bedroom door, but she didn’t even have the strength to turn to look at who it was. "Hey, I didn’t see you in the living room, and the bodyguards said you haven’t left your room. Are you sick?" Sophia’s concerned voice broke the heavy silence that enveloped Abby’s room.
Abby’s body felt like lead, her limbs heavy with the weight of her despair. She couldn’t bring herself to face Sophia, couldn’t bear to see the pity or the worry in her friend’s eyes. Instead, she remained still, her back still turned to the doorway as she struggled to find the words to respond.
"I... I’m not feeling well," Abby finally managed to croak out, her voice barely audible even to her own ears. It felt like a feeble attempt to explain the turmoil raging within her, the overwhelming sense of betrayal and heartache threatening to consume her whole.
Sophia’s footsteps drew closer, and Abby could sense her friend’s presence hovering nearby. A gentle hand came to rest on her shoulder, a silent gesture of comfort and support. Despite the warmth of Sophia’s touch, Abby couldn’t shake the icy grip of despair that clung to her like a vice.
"Do you want me to call a doctor? Or maybe Remo?" Sophia’s voice was soft, filled with genuine concern for her friend’s well-being.
The mention of Remo’s name sent a fresh wave of pain crashing over Abby, the images of his betrayal flashing through her mind once again. "No," she replied, her voice barely more than a whisper. "I just... I need some time alone."
Sophia’s frown deepened as she settled beside Abby, her concern growing with each passing moment. Despite Abby’s attempt to hide her tears, the evidence of her distress was impossible to miss. Sophia’s heart ached at the sight of her friend’s swollen eyes and tear-streaked cheeks, a stark contrast to the vibrant woman she knew.
"Abby, what’s wrong?" Sophia’s voice was gentle, filled with genuine concern as she reached out to brush a stray tear from Abby’s cheek. "We are friends, right? You can tell me what’s wrong."
Abby met Sophia’s gaze, her eyes brimming with unshed tears as she struggled to find the words to express the pain that weighed heavily on her heart. The walls she had built around her emotions began to crumble in the face of Sophia’s unwavering support, and Abby felt a surge of gratitude for her friend’s presence in her darkest hour.
"It’s... it’s Remo," Abby finally confessed, her voice trembling with emotion. "I... I saw something... something that shattered everything I thought I knew about him."
