The Twisted Obsession
Chapter 185: Impressive

Chapter 185: Impressive

Remo sat behind his mahogany desk, the dim light of the study casting long shadows across the room.

His steely gaze fixated on the financial report spread out before him, each number telling a story of deceit and betrayal.

The casino, his prized possession, was bleeding money. But it wasn’t the losses that infuriated him—it was the realization that someone within his own organization was orchestrating the theft. They had dared to steal from him, the very man who had given them power and protection.

Fingers clenched around the edges of the report, Remo’s jaw tightened with restrained fury. How could they betray him like this? How could they be so foolish as to believe they could steal from the Don and get away with it?

His mind raced with possibilities, each scenario more gruesome than the last. But he knew that before he could take action, he needed to gather evidence, to uncover the snakes lurking in his own den.

With a calculated calmness, Remo reached for the phone, dialing Tony’s number with a sense of urgency. After a few rings, Tony answered.

"Tony, it’s Remo," he said, his tone cutting through the line with authority.

"Boss, what’s going on?" Tony’s voice crackled with concern on the other end.

"I’ve uncovered something at the casino," Remo replied, his voice tight with frustration. "Someone’s been skimming off the top, Tony. They’ve been stealing from me."

There was a moment of silence on the other end, before Tony’s voice came back, laced with anger. "Those bastards. They’ve got some nerve."

"You’re damn right they do," Remo growled. "But we’re going to deal with this, Tony. We’re going to root out the traitors and set things straight."

"What do you need me to do, boss?" Tony asked, his loyalty unwavering.

"I need you to put measures in place to protect Abby. We’re heading back home," Remo said, his tone leaving no room for argument. "We’ll handle this the old-fashioned way. They want to play dirty? Fine. But they picked the wrong man to mess with."

"Consider it done, boss," Tony replied, his determination echoing through the phone.

They would scour every inch of the casino, every ledger, every transaction, until they unearthed the traitors within.

As the minutes turned to hours, Remo poured over the financial records with a meticulous eye, piecing together the puzzle of betrayal. Names and faces swirled in his mind, each one a potential suspect in the grand scheme of treachery.

But amidst the chaos of his thoughts, one thing remained clear: whoever dared to steal from him would pay the ultimate price. They would learn that betrayal against the Don was not just a crime—it was a death sentence.

For in the world of the mafia, loyalty was everything, and those who dared to betray that code would soon find themselves facing the wrath of a man scorned. Remo would stop at nothing to protect his empire, even if it meant tearing down those who dared to challenge him.

A discreet knock on Remo’s study room door pulled him away from the financial documents spread across his desk. "Come in," he called out, his voice commanding yet composed.

The door creaked open, revealing one of Sophia’s assistant. Remo raised an eyebrow in curiosity, wondering what business she had with him.

"Mr. Quinn, Miss Turner requests your presence in the living room," the team member informed him, her tone respectful yet firm.

A small smirk tugged at the corner of Remo’s lips. Perfect timing, he thought with satisfaction. It had been two weeks since Abby’s transformation journey began, and Remo had taken every precaution to keep Harrison from finding her.

Standing from his desk, Remo smoothed down the front of his suit jacket before making his way out of the study. As he descended the staircase, his eyes landed on Sophia, who greeted him with a triumphant smile.

"Remo!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement. "What do you say about your wife’s transformation?"

Remo’s gaze shifted to Abby, who stood gracefully beside Sophia, her newfound confidence radiating from every pore. "So," Sophia pressed, her anticipation evident.

"What do you think of her, Remo?"

Remo’s eyes lingered on Abby, taking in the remarkable transformation she had undergone.

Gone was the timid woman he had married, replaced by a vision of elegance and poise that took his breath away.

A smirk played at the corner of Remo’s lips as he assessed his wife’s new appearance.

Gone were the modest dresses and timid gestures, replaced by sleek, form-fitting attire that accentuated her curves and hinted at her newfound self-assurance.

Her hair, once kept in a simple style, now cascaded in soft waves around her shoulders, framing her face in a flattering light.

Her makeup was subtle yet striking, with expertly applied eyeliner accentuating her almond-shaped eyes and a soft blush adding a healthy glow to her cheeks. A hint of lip gloss completed the look, giving her lips a subtle sheen that drew attention to her smile.

But it wasn’t just her outward appearance that had changed. There was a sparkle in Abby’s eyes, a confidence in her posture, that spoke volumes about the transformation she had undergone. She carried herself with a newfound sense of purpose, a quiet strength that was both alluring and commanding.

"Impressive," he remarked, his voice a low rumble filled with satisfaction. "Sophia, you’ve certainly worked wonders."

Abby’s cheeks flushed with a mixture of pride and gratitude at Remo’s words, her eyes sparkling with newfound confidence. "Thank you, Remo," she said, her voice tinged with warmth. "I owe it all to Sophia’s expertise."

Remo nodded in acknowledgment, his gaze softening as it met Abby’s. "You look stunning, darling," he said, his tone genuine. "I’m proud of you."

Abby’s smile widened at his praise, a sense of contentment washing over her. "Thank you," she murmured, her voice filled with emotion.

"Heels, my darling?" Remo quirked an eyebrow, his lips twitching with amusement.

Abby let out a soft groan, sinking back into the plush cushions. "I never thought I would see this day," she admitted, her voice tinged with exhaustion. "But my feet are killing me. I’ve been forced to wear them for hours."

Sophia, interjected with a dry remark. "And she’ll be wearing them always from now on," she quipped, a mischievous glint in her eye. "They’re sexy."

Abby shot Sophia a warning glare, her eyes flashing with irritation. "Well, I should be going," Sophia announced, picking up her bag. "It’s been a long day. I’ll see you tomorrow."

"Thank you for everything you’ve done, Sophia," Remo said sincerely, his gratitude evident in his tone. "What you did for Abby is truly remarkable."

Sophia shook her head, her expression serious. "Don’t thank me yet, Remo. This is only the start of your wife’s transformation. We’ll be in each other’s pocket for a long while."

"Still, thank you for your help," Abby added gratefully. "I never thought I would have looked this pretty without your assistance."

"You’re a beautiful woman, Abby," Sophia said warmly, her eyes locking with Abby’s. "You only have to believe in yourself."

Remo felt a surge of gratitude towards Sophia for her encouraging words to Abby. She had managed to lift his wife’s confidence in a way he hadn’t thought possible.

After seeing Sophia at the one door, Remo and Abby returned to the living room, where Abby gracefully sank onto the sofa and stretched her legs before her.

"How was your day?" Remo asked, settling in beside her. He gently lifted her feet, removing her heels, and began massaging her aching feet. Abby let out a contented sigh, her eyes closing in bliss.

"It was hell," she admitted, her voice tinged with exhaustion. "But now it feels like heaven. Thank you."

Remo continued to massage her feet, ignoring the growing desire within him. "Glad to help," he replied, his voice filled with affection.

"Don’t stop," Abby murmured, her tone pleading.

"Don’t plan to," Remo assured her, his hands working their magic until her feet began to relax and circulation flowed smoothly once again

Remo could feel the weight of his next words pressing on him. He knew he had to tell Abby about his impending trip back home, but he dreaded the sadness it would bring to her eyes.

"Abby," he began, his voice soft but serious, "there’s something I need to discuss with you."

Abby looked up at him, concern flickering in her eyes. "What is it, Remo?" she asked, her voice tinged with apprehension.

"I have to travel back home for a while," Remo explained, his tone regretful. "There’s some business I need to take care of."

Abby’s expression fell, a pang of sadness washing over her.

"How long will you be gone?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

Remo sighed, wishing he had better news to offer her. "I’m not sure," he admitted. "It could be a few days, maybe longer."

Abby nodded, her heart heavy with the thought of being apart from him. "I understand," she said quietly, forcing a small smile. "You have to do what’s best for the business."

Remo reached out and took her hand, squeezing it gently. "I’ll miss you," he said, his voice filled with sincerity.

"I’ll miss you too," Abby replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I’ll be here waiting for you when you return."

Remo leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to her forehead. "I’ll come back to you as soon as I can," he vowed.
