The Twisted Obsession
Chapter 184: Sophia

Chapter 184: Sophia

Remo watched as Sophia entered the living room. She exuded an aura of confidence and sophistication that was hard to ignore. Her dark hair cascaded in waves down her back, framing her face with effortless elegance. As she walked towards him, her emerald-green eyes sparkled with intelligence and warmth.

"Sophia," Remo greeted her with a smile, rising from his seat to greet her properly. "It’s been too long."

Sophia returned his smile, her lips curving into a knowing grin. "Indeed, Remo. It’s always a pleasure to see you."

As Sophia settled into the comfortable couch across from Remo’s desk, she couldn’t help but tease him gently. "So, Remo, when Tony informed me that you had tied the knot, I must admit, I thought he was pulling my leg. Married? You? I never saw that coming."

Remo chuckled, his expression fond as he met her playful gaze. "Believe it or not, it’s true. I’ve finally taken the plunge."

Sophia shook her head in mock disbelief. "Well, congratulations are in order then. Who’s the lucky lady?"

Remo’s smile widened as he spoke of his wife. "Her name is Abby. She’s an incredible woman."

Sophia raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement dancing in her eyes. "Well, color me surprised. I never thought I’d see the day when Remo Quinn settled down."

Remo laughed, the sound warm and genuine. "Neither did I, Sophia. Neither did I."

Their banter was interrupted by the sound of Abby clearing her throat nervously as she had just walked in. Sophia turned her attention towards the shy young woman, her gaze assessing and curious. "And who might this lovely creature be?"

Remo’s expression softened as he introduced Abby. "This is Abby. She’s the reason I called you here today."My wife."

Sophia’s eyes twinkled with curiosity as she studied the young woman before her. Abby exuded an air of innocence and reserve, her demeanor in stark contrast to Remo’s confident presence.

"Well, well, Remo," Sophia teased, nudging him with her elbow. "I must say, I didn’t expect you to have such a demure wife."

Remo chuckled softly, shooting Abby an affectionate glance. "Abby may seem shy at first, but don’t let that fool you. She’s full of surprises."

Sophia nodded, her interest piqued. She studied Abby intently, her eyes taking in every detail. There was something about the young woman’s quiet demeanor that intrigued her. "Well, Abby, it’s a pleasure to meet you," she said warmly, extending her hand.

Abby accepted her hand tentatively, a shy smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Likewise," she replied softly.

Sophia couldn’t help but notice the delicate way Abby held herself, as if she were afraid of taking up too much space in the room. It reminded her of a delicate flower, waiting to bloom under the right conditions.

"Well, Abby, I must say, you’re in good hands with Sophia ," Remo remarked, her tone reassuring. "She’s one of the best in the business."

Abby’s eyes brightened with a flicker of hope at his words, and Sophia couldn’t help but feel a surge of empathy towards her. She had seen many clients like Abby before—people who felt trapped by their insecurities and fears, but who were capable of so much more than they realized.

"I’m here to help you become the best version of yourself, Abby," Sophia continued, her voice gentle but firm. "It won’t be easy, but I promise you, it’ll be worth it."

Abby nodded, her expression filled with determination. "Thank you, Sophia. I’m ready to start."

With that, Sophia turned to Remo, a small smile playing on her lips. "Shall we get started then?"

Remo nodded, "Absolutely. I will leave you ladies alone."

Abby watched Remo leave, her gaze lingering on him for a moment longer than necessary. Sophia’s voice broke her from her stupor.

"You really love him, huh?" Sophia’s tone was casual, but Abby sensed an underlying curiosity.

Abby blinked, her cheeks flushing slightly. "Well, he’s my husband, of course I do," she replied, trying to sound confident.

Sophia chuckled softly, her eyes studying Abby intently. "Hmm... I don’t know how you two met or got married, but as your new friend, I’ll give you a little advice—have no expectations. Remo Quinn is a man incapable of love, despite how good he treats you."

Abby’s cheeks flushed deeper with embarrassment at Sophia’s blunt words. She hadn’t expected such a direct assessment of Remo from someone she had just met. "I appreciate your advice, Sophia," she replied, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "But I believe Remo and I have something special."

Sophia’s expression softened, a hint of sympathy in her emerald-green eyes. "I hope you’re right, Abby. But just remember, sometimes people aren’t who they seem to be."

Abby nodded, her mind swirling with conflicting emotions. She trusted Remo implicitly, but Sophia’s words planted a seed of doubt in her heart. Was there more to Remo than she realized? And if so, what did that mean for their relationship?

Harrison sat at his desk, poring over financial reports and projections for the company he now was fully in charge of , his brow furrowed in concentration. The ringing of his phone shattered the silence of his office, causing him to jump slightly in his seat. He glanced at the caller ID and saw it was his new assistant, Sarah since his wife made him fire the old one.

"Hello, Sarah. What’s up?" Harrison answered, trying to sound composed despite the tension building inside him.

"Boss, I’m sorry to disturb you, but I have some urgent news," Sarah’s voice came through, sounding worried.

Harrison’s heart skipped a beat. "What is it?"

"It’s about one of our top investors, Mr. Johnson," Sarah replied hesitantly. "He just called to inform us that he’s pulling out of the company."

Harrison felt the blood drain from his face as Sarah’s words sunk in. Mr. Johnson had been one of their most loyal and influential investors, and his departure would undoubtedly have a significant impact on the company’s financial stability.

"Did he give a reason?" Harrison asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

Sarah sighed. "He mentioned something about concerns regarding the direction of the company and a lack of confidence in our leadership."

Harrison’s mind raced as he tried to process the implications of Mr. Johnson’s decision. Losing such a prominent investor could jeopardize their upcoming projects and hinder their ability to secure future funding.

"Thank you for letting me know, Sarah," Harrison said finally, his voice tinged with resignation. "I’ll handle it from here."

Harrison took a deep breath before dialing Mr. Johnson’s number, his mind racing with questions and concerns. After a few rings, Mr. Johnson answered, his voice curt and brusque.

"Mr. Johnson, it’s Harrison. I just wanted to talk to you about your decision to pull out of the company," Harrison said, trying to keep his tone neutral.

There was a pause on the other end of the line before Mr. Johnson spoke, his voice dripping with disdain. "I can’t support people who hurt my precious daughter, Harrison. And it’s clear to me now that your company is filled with such individuals."

Harrison felt a knot form in his stomach at Mr. Johnson’s words. "I’m sorry, I’m not sure I understand. Could you please explain what you mean?"

Mr. Johnson let out a derisive snort. "Don’t play dumb with me, Harrison. You know exactly what I’m talking about. Your niece, Abigail Falcone, has caused irreparable harm to my daughter, and I won’t stand for it."

Harrison’s confusion deepened. "Abigail? What are you saying? Abigail would never intentionally hurt anyone." If anything he knew his niece was incapable of causing harm to anyone.

Mr. Johnson scoffed. "Oh, spare me the innocent act. If you want answers, ask your niece what she’s done. And until then, don’t bother contacting me again."

With that, Mr. Johnson hung up, leaving Harrison staring at his phone in disbelief.

As Harrison stared at his computer screen, a wave of frustration washed over him. He loathed his niece, Abigail Falcone, with every fiber of his being. She had always been a thorn in his side, from the moment she ran away from him, leaving behind a trail of chaos and destruction.

Now, with Mr. Johnson’s accusations ringing in his ears, Harrison couldn’t shake the feeling that Abigail was somehow behind this latest setback. She was always causing trouble, always looking for ways to disrupt his life.

But as he searched through his contacts, Harrison realized with a sinking feeling that he didn’t even have Abigail’s phone number. She had cut off all contact with him when she had left, leaving him with no way to reach her.

Frustration turned to anger as Harrison slammed his fist down on the desk. That imbecile, Abigail, was determined to ruin everything he had worked so hard to achieve. But he wouldn’t let her.

"She wants to ruin the company and make my hard work be in vain," Harrison muttered to himself, his jaw clenched in determination. "No, no, I won’t allow it."
