The Twisted Obsession
Chapter 176: Lana

Chapter 176: Lana

Lying on the sterile hospital bed, Lana winced as she shifted uncomfortably, her face contorted in pain. The doctor had just informed her that she had a fractured hand, and the news only added to her frustration.

With a deep frown etched on her face, Lana seethed with anger. How dare that woman disgrace her in public like that! She couldn’t shake off the humiliation of being rejected, especially in front of everyone at the café.

As the youngest and most pampered child in her family, Lana was accustomed to getting whatever she wanted. Her recent return from the States had only reinforced her sense of entitlement. She was used to men falling at her feet, captivated by her striking beauty and enviable figure. No man had ever dared to refuse her advances before.

But then she laid eyes on him – that handsome man in the café. Something about him had ignited a fierce desire within her. She knew she had to have him, to add him to her long list of conquests.

Yet, to her astonishment and indignation, he had rebuffed her advances without a second thought. How could he? How could any man resist her charms?

Lana’s mind raced with thoughts of revenge. She vowed to make that man regret his decision to reject her. No one treated her with such disrespect and got away with it. She would make sure of that, even if it meant resorting to underhanded tactics.

As Lana’s mother and elder brother entered the hospital room, concern etched on their faces, her mother’s expression softened with a mixture of worry and tenderness. Mrs. Adams rushed to Lana’s bedside, her eyes brimming with tears as she reached out to gently caress her daughter’s cheek.

"Lana, darling, are you alright?" Mrs. Adams asked, her voice quivering with emotion. "Oh, my precious girl, what happened to you?"

Lana winced at the pain but managed a weak smile for her mother’s sake. "I fractured my hand, Mom," she replied, her voice tinged with discomfort. "It’s nothing serious."

But Mrs. Adams’s worry was evident as she hovered over Lana, fussing over her with motherly concern. She adjusted the blankets, fluffed the pillows, and smoothed Lana’s hair with gentle hands, her affectionate gestures a testament to her deep love for her youngest child.

Lana’s elder brother, David, stood by silently, his expression grave as he observed the scene. Despite being the eldest sibling, Lana had always been their mother’s favorite, and David couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy at the special attention she received.

"Lana, what happened?" David finally spoke up, his tone stern yet tinged with concern.

Lana hesitated, unsure of how to explain the embarrassing incident that had landed her in the hospital. She glanced at her mother, silently pleading for understanding.

Mrs. Adams’s eyes narrowed with concern as she noticed the discomfort in Lana’s expression. "Tell us, sweetheart," she urged gently, her voice soft and comforting. "We’re here for you, no matter what."

With a heavy sigh, Lana recounted the events of the day, her voice trembling with frustration as she spoke of the rejection she had faced at the café. Mrs. Adams listened intently, her heart breaking for her daughter’s pain.

As Lana finished her story, Mrs. Adams enveloped her in a warm embrace, holding her close as tears welled up in her eyes. "Oh, my dear Lana," she murmured, her voice filled with sympathy. "No one should ever treat you with such disrespect. You deserve so much better."

Lana’s eyes burned with determination as she voiced her desire for revenge, her tone resolute despite the pain she was in. "Yes, Mama, I want revenge," she declared firmly. "We shouldn’t let them get away with treating me like that."

David exchanged a worried glance with his mother, concern evident in his expression. "Lana, revenge isn’t the answer," he interjected, his voice laced with caution. "We shouldn’t stoop to their level. Violence or retaliation will only make things worse."

But before David could continue, Mrs. Adams stepped in, her tone sharp as she scolded her son. "David, how dare you question your sister’s feelings!" she admonished, her voice tinged with anger. "She’s been humiliated, and you should be standing up for her, not trying to reason with her."

David’s jaw tightened with frustration, but he held his tongue, knowing better than to argue with his mother when she was in such a state. He cast a pleading glance at Lana, silently urging her to reconsider her desire for revenge.

Lana’s resolve wavered for a moment as she caught her brother’s gaze, but the sting of humiliation and rejection fueled her anger. "No,brother, I won’t let them get away with this," she insisted, her voice unwavering. "I’ll make sure they regret ever crossing me."

Mrs. Adams nodded in approval, her eyes flashing with determination. "That’s my girl," she said proudly, her voice brimming with support. "We’ll show them that no one messes with our family."

Lana’s mother’s eyes flashed with anger as she turned to her son, her voice firm and resolute. "Find me the CCTV footage of the café. I need to find these people who dare to harm my precious daughter," she commanded, her tone leaving no room for argument.

David hesitated, a sense of unease creeping over him as he exchanged a worried glance with Lana. "Mom, what are you planning on doing?" he asked, his voice tinged with concern.

But Mrs. Adams’s expression hardened, her jaw set with determination. "I’ll make sure those responsible for hurting Lana face the consequences of their actions," she declared, her voice steely with resolve. "No one gets away with disrespecting our family."

Lana watched the exchange with a mixture of apprehension and admiration for her mother’s fierce protectiveness. She knew that Mrs. Adams would stop at nothing to ensure justice for her daughter, even if it meant taking matters into her own hands.

David sighed heavily, knowing that he couldn’t dissuade his mother once she had made up her mind. Reluctantly, he nodded in acquiescence. "I’ll get the CCTV footage," he said resignedly, his heart heavy with apprehension for what might come next.
