Chapter 175: Possessive

Chapter 175: Possessive

The remaining bodyguard, recognizing the gravity of the situation and realizing that further confrontation would only lead to more trouble, quickly scooped up his mistress. With a deep bow of apology directed at Remo, he muttered, "I’m terribly sorry for the inconvenience, sir."

Remo nodded, his expression stern but accepting of the apology. "Just make sure she gets the medical attention she needs," he replied calmly, his voice firm but not unkind.

The bodyguard nodded in acknowledgment before swiftly making his way out of the café, his mistress still cradling her injured hand, tears streaming down her face.

As the door closed behind them, the café returned to its usual buzz of activity, the lingering tension slowly dissipating.

The commotion died down and Abby turned to Olivia, gratitude shining in her eyes. "Thank you," she said, her voice filled with admiration. "You saved me."

Olivia smiled, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "No problem," she replied casually, as if breaking someone’s fingers was just another day at the office. "Just doing my job."

The manager of the café, a distinguished-looking gentleman with a keen eye for detail, approached Remo with a polite smile. Despite Remo’s casual attire and his inconspicuous spot by the window, the manager sensed an aura of authority and presence emanating from him.

"Is everything okay here?" the manager inquired, his tone polite but concerned.

Remo nodded, acknowledging the manager’s inquiry. "Yes, everything is fine now. Just a minor disturbance," he replied, his voice calm and composed.

Abby, sensing the elder man’s presence, also chimed in with an apology. "We’re sorry for any inconvenience," she said, her tone respectful.

The manager waved off their apologies with a reassuring smile. "No need to apologize. Our priority is ensuring all our guests have a pleasant experience," he said graciously.

Remo and Abby exchanged a grateful glance, appreciative of the manager’s understanding and professionalism. "Thank you," Remo said sincerely, his expression reflecting his gratitude.

With a nod of acknowledgment, the manager left, leaving Remo and Abby alone.

Remo’s lips curled into a playful smirk as he teased Abby, leaning in closer to her . "Your man, huh?"

Abby chuckled softly, a faint blush coloring her cheeks

"Of course, you’re mine. You’re not the only one possessive." Abby retorted.

Remo laughed at her response. His playful demeanor softened into genuine affection as he looked at Abby. "Well, I’m only yours," he said, his voice carrying a warmth that melted her heart

Abby grinned, her playful demeanor mirroring his own. "Oh, absolutely," she replied, her tone filled with mock seriousness. "I don’t share well."

Remo chuckled, the sound rich and warm. He loved this side of his wife—the fierce, protective woman who wasn’t afraid to stand her ground. It only deepened his admiration and affection for her.

Abby’s brow furrowed as she turned her head and observed the scene outside the window, her gaze fixed on Tony and Olivia. A frown creased Tony’s face, his expression etched with concern, while Olivia blushed and withdrew her hand from his grasp at something he said.

Remo followed Abby’s gaze and observed the interaction between Tony and Olivia. Abby turned to him, her curiosity piqued. "Don’t you think there’s something between those two?" she asked, seeking his opinion.

Remo chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Olivia is his ex," he replied, his tone laced with amusement.

Abby’s eyes widened in surprise. "His ex?" she echoed, her mind racing with questions.

Remo nodded, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "They dated for a while, but it didn’t work out," he explained. "They still have a bit of history between them, but I doubt there’s anything romantic going on now."

Abby nodded slowly, absorbing the information. She glanced back at Tony and Olivia, realizing that there was indeed a complicated dynamic at play. Despite the tension she sensed between them, she trusted Remo’s judgment.

"Guess I jumped to conclusions," she admitted with a sheepish grin.

Remo nodded in understanding as he listened to Abby’s observation. "I can see why you’d think that," he admitted, his tone thoughtful. "Sometimes past feelings can linger, even if the relationship is over."

Abby glanced at Remo, appreciating his insight. "Do you think they still have feelings for each other?" she asked, curious to hear his perspective.

Remo shrugged, his expression contemplative. "It’s hard to say for sure," he replied. "But from what I know of Tony and Olivia, they both seem to have moved on with their lives."

Abby nodded, acknowledging Remo’s point. "I guess appearances can be deceiving," she mused.

"Tony refused to divulge what happened, but I could sense something wasn’t right," Remo began, his voice tinged with concern. "Dating the same person within the sect is forbidden. When I learned about Tony and Olivia, I was initially angry, but eventually, I gave them a chance, despite the rule they broke."

Abby nodded, absorbing the gravity of the situation. "That must have been difficult," she murmured, empathizing with Remo’s position.

Remo sighed, the weight of the past evident in his expression. "A few weeks later, Olivia dropped a bombshell on me," he continued. "She told me she was leaving. After some investigation, I discovered she was pregnant."

Abby’s eyes widened in surprise, her hand instinctively covering her mouth. "Pregnant?" she echoed, struggling to comprehend the sudden turn of events.

Remo nodded, his gaze distant as he recalled the difficult time. "Yes, for Tony," he confirmed quietly. "Olivia disappeared for several years after that."

Abby’s mind raced with questions, but she held her tongue, allowing Remo to continue at his own pace.

"She recently reached out to me," Remo continued, his voice tinged with a mixture of emotions. "She asked if I would take her back and provide her with a job. Despite everything, she’s proven to be a valuable asset, and I can’t deny that I have a soft spot for her, especially since she once risked her life for me."

"I really like Tony, I hope he’s happy." Abby murmured.

Remo looked at Abby, understanding the sentiment behind her words. "I know you do," he said gently, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze. "Tony’s a good guy, despite his past mistakes."

Abby nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "I just hope they can work things out," she murmured, her voice filled with genuine concern.

Remo nodded in agreement, his gaze softening as he looked at her. "Me too," he said softly. "But whatever happens, we’ll be here for them."
