Chapter 161: First impression
Chapter 161: First impression
As the late morning sun painted the sky in shades of gold and blue, Abby and Remo strolled along the sun-kissed beach, the sand warm beneath their feet. The sound of seagulls and the gentle crash of waves created a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for their leisurely walk.
Remo glanced at Abby, admiring the way the sunlight danced in her hair, illuminating her features with a soft glow. He couldn’t help but feel a surge of affection for her as they walked hand in hand, their footsteps leaving a trail in the sand.
"Abby," Remo began, breaking the comfortable silence between them, "can I ask you something?"
Abby looked up at him, a curious expression in her eyes. "Of course, Remo. What’s on your mind?" she replied, her voice warm and inviting.
Remo took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts before speaking. "What was your first impression of me when we met?" he asked, his tone laced with curiosity.
"What did you think of me when you first met me?" Remo asked, his voice soft as he reached out to grab Abby’s hand.
Abby glanced at him, a playful smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Can I be honest?" she replied, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I don’t remember much, my mind was blank. Just that you were really handsome. More handsome even in person."
Remo’s lips twitched with amusement, a hint of satisfaction in his expression. "I’m glad to hear that," he replied, his tone warm and genuine.
Abby raised her eyebrows in mock offense, a grin spreading across her face. "Why was your mind blank?" Remo asked, genuinely curious about her answer.
"Because you were really intimidating, and it kind of scared me off," Abby admitted, chuckling softly as she recalled their first meeting.
Remo leaned in to kiss her cheek, feeling a rush of affection for her. Their shadows danced on the sandy surface, illuminated by the soft glow of the moon above.
"But you like me now, right? I’m not anymore intimidating." Remo asked hopefully, pouting slightly in jest.
Abby couldn’t help but laugh at his playful expression, her heart swelling with love for him. "Are you kidding? I love you, you silly," she declared, reaching up to caress his cheek tenderly.
Remo’s eyes softened at her words, a warm smile spreading across his face.
"W-what about me?" she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. "What did you think about me?"
Remo’s gaze softened as he looked at her, his eyes filled with tenderness. He reached out to gently cup her face in his hands, his touch sending a shiver down her spine.
"Abby," he began, his voice gentle and reassuring, "from the moment I laid eyes on you, I was captivated by your beauty and your boldness. But more than that, there was something about you that drew me in, something I couldn’t quite put into words."
Abby’s cheeks flushed with color at his words, her heart fluttering with a mixture of joy and disbelief. She had always been shy and reserved, never daring to believe that someone like Remo could be interested in her.
"I-I was so nervous when we first met," she admitted, her voice trembling with vulnerability. "I didn’t know what to say, and I kept stumbling over my words."
Remo’s smile widened, his thumb gently stroking her cheek. "I thought you were adorable," he confessed, his gaze filled with warmth. "Your shyness only made you more endearing to me."
Abby grinned as Remo’s arms encircled her, lifting her off her feet with an unexpected burst of energy.
"What’s gotten into you, Remo?" she laughed, the sound blending with the rhythm of the crashing waves as he carried her towards the water’s edge.
Before she could protest, they plunged into the cool embrace of the sea, water enveloping them in its refreshing embrace. Abby squealed in delight, the playful splash of the waves adding to their shared laughter.
"Why would you do that?" she teased, still grinning as he held her close, his gaze warm and playful.
"Just wanted to see that beautiful smile of yours light up my day." Remo replied, his voice husky with affection.
Abby blushed at his words, feeling a rush of warmth spread through her. His playful antics never failed to brighten her mood, even as the cool ocean water lapped at their skin.
"You’re such a charmer," she teased, reaching up to brush a stray strand of hair from his face.
Remo’s grin widened, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Only for you, my dear Abby," he whispered, leaning in to capture her lips in a tender kiss.
She melted against him, losing herself in the sweetness of his touch. His lips were warm and inviting, sending tingles of pleasure down her spine as their kiss deepened.
As they finally pulled away, breathless and smiling, Remo twirled her around in a whirlwind of happiness. Abby laughed with abandon, feeling as if she were floating on air in his arms.
"Thank you for always bringing so much joy into my life," she murmured, gazing up at him with adoration.
Remo’s eyes softened, his arms tightening around her in a warm embrace. "And thank you for being the light that guides me through the darkest of nights," he replied, his voice filled with love.
Tony approached them, and Remo’s expression shifted, a mix of concern and curiosity flashing across his features.
"Remo," Tony called out, urgency lacing his tone, "Matteo just called. It’s Stella."
Abby’s heart skipped a beat at the mention of Stella, Remo’s brother Matteo’s wife. She could sense the tension in the air as Remo’s grip on her tightened.
Remo’s heart skipped a beat at the mention of his brother’s wife. Stella was pregnant and due any day now, he promised her he would be around when she was due.
"What’s wrong?" Remo demanded, his voice clipped with concern.
Tony hesitated, his gaze flickering between Remo and Abby. "She is in labor," he explained, his voice grim. "They’re at the hospital. He didn’t sound okay."
