Chapter 157: Happy

Chapter 157: Happy

As the evening sun dipped below the horizon, casting hues of orange and pink across the sky, Remo and Abby strolled along the shoreline, hand in hand. The gentle breeze carried the scent of saltwater, and the rhythmic sound of waves provided a soothing background melody.

Remo’s hand tightened around Abby’s as he guided her towards a secluded dock, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Abby," he said, his voice tinged with anticipation, "I have a surprise for you."

Abby’s curiosity piqued, she tilted her head, her eyes sparkling with intrigue. "A surprise? What is it?" she asked, unable to contain her excitement.

But Remo simply smiled mysteriously and shook his head. "You’ll find out soon enough," he teased, leading her closer to the edge of the sea.

As they reached the dock, Abby’s eyes widened in surprise. Standing before her were Tony and another man, their expressions unreadable. "What’s going on?" Abby wondered aloud, her heart racing with anticipation.

Remo exchanged a nod with the other man before turning to Abby with a grin. "All set?" he asked, his voice filled with anticipation.

Abby’s mind raced with questions, but before she could voice them, the man, whom Remo had addressed as John, nodded in confirmation. "Yes, sir," he replied, gesturing towards the dock.

Abby’s heart skipped a beat as she watched the scene unfold before her.

As the man stepped aside, Abby’s breath caught in her throat. There, in all its grandeur, was a magnificent yacht, its sleek lines cutting through the water with effortless grace. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before, and for a moment, she was speechless.

"Is this... for us?" Abby finally managed to stammer, her voice barely above a whisper.

Remo’s smile widened as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. "Yes, it is," he said softly, his eyes shining with excitement. "I wanted to do something special for us, something unforgettable."

Abby felt a rush of emotions wash over her – surprise, gratitude, and overwhelming love for the man standing beside her. She leaned into his embrace, feeling the warmth of his touch and the steady beat of his heart.

But as the reality of their situation sank in, Abby couldn’t help but feel a twinge of doubt. "Isn’t this a little grand for just the two of us?" she asked hesitantly, her eyes searching his.

Remo rubbed his neck nervously, his expression turning thoughtful. "Is it?" he admitted, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "I didn’t think about it."

Abby couldn’t help but chuckle at the confused look on Remo’s face. "It’s okay, I like it," she reassured him, her laughter bubbling up with genuine amusement. Remo’s arm found her waist again, offering a comforting presence as they made their way up the ramp, Abby’s legs feeling unsteady with the rush of emotions.

"I guess I should get used to your extravagant things, hm?" Abby teased lightly, a playful glint in her eye as she glanced up at Remo, her heart swelling with affection.

They were greeted at the very entrance of the boat by a man dressed impeccably in a black suit, his demeanor exuding professionalism and grace. He inclined his head respectfully at their arrival, spinning a tray out toward them with practiced ease. Resting atop the tray were two flutes of sparkling champagne, one of which Remo handed to Abby with a smile, taking the other for himself.

Abby took the glass with a grateful nod, her fingers brushing against Remo’s momentarily, sending a jolt of warmth through her. Sipping the champagne, she looked out at the vast expanse of the sea before them.

"Here comes the real surprise," Remo whispered, his eyes gleaming with anticipation as he glanced at Abby. Her brows furrowed in confusion. "What? What’s happening?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.

Before Abby could finish her question, a sudden loud noise echoed through the air, startling her. Panic momentarily gripped her, her mind racing to make sense of the situation. But then, in an instant, she realized what was happening.

"That," Remo murmured softly, pulling her close as he wrapped his arms around her. Abby felt her heart rate slow as she leaned into his embrace, his warmth comforting amidst the chaos. His chin rested on her shoulder, and she felt the gentle brush of his lips against her jawline before he whispered, "Surprise."

And then she saw it. Fireworks erupted across the sky, painting it with vibrant colors and illuminating the darkness with bursts of light. Abby gasped in awe, her eyes wide as she took in the breathtaking display before her.

It was a magical moment, one that filled Abby with a sense of wonder and joy. She couldn’t tear her gaze away from the sky, captivated by the beauty of the fireworks as they danced"Do you like it?" Remo mumbled against Abby’s cheek, his voice thick with emotion. His hair tickled the side of her face as they stood mesmerized by the fireworks.

"It’s..." Abby turned to look at Remo, her heart swelling with love as she met his sparkling eyes. "It’s beautiful ."

"You’re beautiful," Remo breathed against Abby’s skin, his voice husky with emotion as he pressed gentle kisses along her neck and shoulder. Abby felt her cheeks warm at his words, a flutter of excitement stirring in her chest.

"How do you feel right now? Tell me honestly." Remo’s voice was soft, barely above a whisper, as he spoke against her skin.

His breath was warm against her, sending shivers down her spine. "Just tell me how you’re feeling. Tell me how to make you happy.

Tell me exactly what I can do to make you happy... to ease your burden. I always want to see you smile."

Abby couldn’t help but smile at Remo’s earnestness, his devotion to her happiness touching her heart deeply.

Gently, she reached up and cupped his face in her hands, her thumbs brushing lightly over his cheekbones.

"Remo," she said softly, meeting his gaze with warmth and affection. "Why do you think I’m not happy?"

There was a moment of silence as Remo searched her eyes, his expression shifting into one of concern.

Abby’s heart clenched at the sight, her own happiness tied so closely to his.

"I’m happy," she assured him, her voice filled with sincerity. Leaning in, she pressed her lips to his, pouring all of her love and contentment into the kiss. "Very happy."
