Chapter 112: Carnival
As they lay entwined in the quiet darkness, Remo’s voice broke the peaceful silence. "Abby, there’s something I want to give you," he whispered, his tone filled with warmth and sincerity.
Abby lifted her head from his chest, curiosity flickering in her eyes. "What is it?" she asked, her heart fluttering with anticipation.
With a gentle smile, Remo reached over to the bedside table and pulled open the drawer. From within, he retrieved a stack of documents and handed them to Abby.
Confusion knit her brow as she glanced at the papers in her hand. "What’s this?" she questioned, her gaze flicking between Remo and the documents.
"Open it and read," Remo replied, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Abby hesitated for a moment before unfolding the papers and scanning the contents. Her breath caught in her throat as realization dawned on her. It was the ownership papers for the house they were currently staying in.
"Why are you giving me these documents?" Abby asked, her voice barely above a whisper, her heart pounding with disbelief.
Remo’s smile widened as he took her hand in his. "Because, Abby, I bought this house for you," he said softly, his eyes never leaving hers.
Warmth welled up in Abby’s eyes as she looked at Remo, her emotions threatening to overwhelm her. "You... you bought me a house?" she whispered, her voice choked with emotion.
Remo nodded, his expression filled with love and devotion. "Yes, Abby. I wanted to give you something to show you how much you mean to me, a wedding gift. I’m yet to give you one" he confessed, his voice thick with emotion.
Abby’s heart swelled with love as she looked at Remo, her eyes shining with tears of joy. "Thank you," she murmured, her voice trembling with emotion.
Abby chuckled softly, her heart overflowing with gratitude and love. "You really know how to give a gift," she said, her voice filled with warmth.
Remo shrugged nonchalantly, a playful glint in his eyes. "Well, you’re married to a big shot, so I have to spoil you," he teased, a hint of pride creeping into his tone.
Abby rolled her eyes affectionately, swatting his arm playfully. "You’re ridiculous," she laughed, her voice laced with fondness.
Remo grinned, pulling her closer to him. "Only for you, my love," he whispered, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead before lifting her effortlessly from the bed. Abby wrapped her arms around his neck, her heart fluttering at his touch.
"What are you up to, Remo?" she asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice.
Remo grinned mischievously, his brown eyes twinkling with excitement. "We’re going to take a bath together," he declared, his voice filled with anticipation.
Abby’s cheeks flushed with a mixture of surprise and excitement. "Together?" she echoed, a smile spreading across her lips.
Remo nodded, his grin widening. "Yes, together," he confirmed, his voice husky with desire. "I thought it would be a perfect way to start the day."
Abby’s heart skipped a beat at the thought of sharing such an intimate moment with Remo. With a nod and a soft giggle, she tightened her grip around his neck, eager to follow wherever he led.

As Abby and Remo returned home, the warm aroma of breakfast greeted them, drawing them to the kitchen. Abby’s heart swelled with happiness as she saw her dad and Martha sitting at the table, sharing a meal together. Her father looked remarkably better, a twinkle of vitality in his eyes that hadn’t been there before.
"Good morning, Dad, Martha," Abby greeted them with a smile, her eyes sparkling with joy.
Her father looked up, his face breaking into a wide grin at the sight of his daughter. "Good morning, sweetheart," he replied, his voice filled with warmth.
Abby couldn’t help but notice the improvement in her father’s appearance. "You’re looking good, Dad," she teased, leaning in to press a kiss on his cheek. "I assume you had fun last night?"
Her father chuckled, a hint of mischief dancing in his eyes. "Maybe I did," he replied cryptically, sharing a knowing look with Martha.
Abby laughed, delighted to see her father in such high spirits. Whatever had happened last night, she was grateful to see him so happy and rejuvenated. As she joined them at the table, she couldn’t shake the feeling of contentment that settled over her, knowing
that her family was together and that they were all safe and well.
Remo approached the table with a warm smile, greeting Abby’s father with a respectful nod. "Good morning, Mr.Falcone," he said, his tone polite yet friendly.
Mr. Falcone returned the greeting with a nod of his own, his expression softening at the sight of Remo. "Good morning, Remo," he replied warmly.
Remo took a seat beside Abby, feeling a sense of belonging in their presence. Turning to Mr. Falcone, he inquired, "How are you feeling today?"
Mr. Falcone’s eyes twinkled with amusement as he replied, "Better than ever, thanks to Martha’s excellent care."
Remo grinned, appreciating the humor in Charle’s words. "Glad to hear it," he said sincerely.
As they began to enjoy their breakfast together, Mr. Falcone turned to Remo with a curious glint in his eye. "So, Remo, how was your date with Abby last night? Did you two have a good time?"
Remo’s smile widened at the mention of their date, his gaze flickering to Abby for a moment before returning to Charles. "It was wonderful," he replied, his voice filled with genuine affection. "Abby made it truly special."
Abby’s cheeks flushed with warmth at Remo’s words, a shy smile gracing her lips. She reached out to squeeze his hand under the table
"Good. Are you free today?" He asked Remo.
"Yeah."
"Then let’s go to the carnival. I promised Abby I would take her there. Today seems like a great day."
Remo nodded, a faint smile playing on his lips as he glanced at Abby. "Sure, that sounds like a plan," he agreed, his voice filled with warmth.
Abby’s heart swelled with gratitude at her father’s suggestion. The carnival held special memories for her, but she knew it was also a place of painful memories for Remo. She turned to him, her eyes filled with concern. "Are you sure you’ll be okay going to the carnival?" she asked softly, squeezing his hand reassuringly.
Remo met her gaze, his expression thoughtful. "I’ll be fine, Abby," he assured her, his voice gentle. "Being with you and your family is what matters most to me."
Abby smiled gratefully, touched by his words. She knew that Remo was facing his own demons by agreeing to go to the carnival, and she appreciated his willingness to support her and her father.
