Chapter 100: Lucky for me
Chapter 100: Lucky for me
Tonight was different for Remo. Normally nonchalant about such matters, he found himself in a state of nervousness he hadn’t experienced before. Bathing to to get ready had been the beginning of his anxiety. The pit in his stomach grew as he drove to the place thinking Abby wouldn’t show up. When the car bringing Abby pulled up, his nerves escalated. Insecurity gnawed at him. Would she find him ridiculous? Would she discern the hours he’d spent agonizing over his attire? Would she realize the depth of his feelings if he managed to impress her?
As Remo approached the car, his heart pounded with anticipation, his mind racing with a whirlwind of doubts and insecurities. The sight of Abby’s car pulling up only heightened his nerves, the anticipation of her arrival stirring up a tumultuous mix of emotions within him.
When the car finally came to a stop, Remo took a deep breath to steady himself before walking towards the passenger side. His hand trembled slightly as he reached for the door handle, his fingers lingering for a moment before finally grasping it and pulling the door open.
As Abby stepped out of the car, Remo’s breath caught in his throat as he beheld her breathtaking beauty. She exuded an aura of elegance and sophistication.
Her hair cascaded down her shoulders in glossy waves, framing her face in a curtain of luxurious locks. Each strand seemed to catch the light, casting a shimmering halo around her.
Her makeup was a work of art. Her eyes were adorned with dramatic winged eyeliner, expertly applied to accentuate their almond shape. A smoky bronze eyeshadow added depth and allure, while long, fluttery lashes framed her gaze, drawing attention to her captivating eyes.
Her lips were painted a bold shade of crimson, perfectly sculpted to resemble the plush pout.
The rich color added a touch of allure to her already striking features, making her lips the focal point of her makeup.
Abby’s attire complemented her makeup perfectly, exuding an aura of sophistication and allure. She wore a figure-hugging gown in a deep shade of burgundy, its luxurious fabric clinging to her curves in all the right places. The plunging neckline showcased her décolletage, while the thigh-high slit added a touch of drama to her ensemble.
Accessorized with sparkling diamond earrings and a delicate bracelet adorning her wrist, Abby radiated confidence and poise as she stood before Remo, her beauty illuminated by the soft glow of the evening lights.
Remo couldn’t tear his gaze away from her, mesmerized by her stunning transformation. She looked every bit like a Hollywood starlet, her presence commanding attention and admiration.
As Abby flashed him a radiant smile, Remo felt a surge of pride and admiration wash over him. The moment his eyes landed on her, he felt an overwhelming desire to abandon their plans, to beg her to forget the date and spend the night with him instead. Yet, he resisted. Despite the agony of tearing his eyes away from her, Remo was determined to give her a memorable evening. He knew how rarely she experienced such moments, and he refused to selfishly deprive her of it, even if his own frustration threatened to overwhelm him
Abby’s eyes sparkled as they met Remo’s, a radiant smile lighting up her face. "Are those flowers for me?" she asked, gesturing towards the bouquet in his hand.
Remo blinked, momentarily startled out of his daze. He had been so captivated by Abby’s presence that he had forgotten all about the flowers. Heat flooded his cheeks as he realized his oversight, feeling foolish for his lapse in attention.
"Ah, yes, they’re for you," he replied, offering her the bouquet with an apologetic smile. "I’m sorry, I got a bit distracted."
Abby chuckled softly, accepting the flowers with a gracious smile. "Thank you, Remo. They’re beautiful."
Remo felt a rush of relief wash over him at Abby’s gracious response. "You’re welcome," he said, his voice tinged with embarrassment. "I’m glad you like them. Shall we?"
As Remo offered his hand to Abby, a wave of warmth washed over her. Without hesitation, she slipped her fingers into his, their hands fitting together perfectly as if they were made for each other.
With a gentle squeeze, Remo smiled reassuringly at Abby, his touch sending a jolt of electricity coursing through her veins
As they continued walking, Remo couldn’t shake the feeling of awkwardness that lingered between them. He desperately wanted to say something to break the tension, but his mind seemed to be drawing a blank. Never did Remo think a date would ever make him this nervous and he had no idea why he was even feeling anxious.
Remo stole glances at Abby, his heart swelling with affection at the sight of her by his side. She was more beautiful than he could have ever imagined
"You’re beautiful," Remo blurted out suddenly, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I mean, the flowers are beautiful. Not that you’re not beautiful, but I mean, you look dashing, so stunning—"
Abby burst out laughing, her laughter echoing through the night air. "Oh, Remo," she said, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "You’re adorable."
Remo’s embarrassment only deepened at her response, but he couldn’t help but smile at her laughter. It was infectious, and soon he found himself joining in, the awkwardness melting away in the warmth of their shared moment.
"Thank you," Abby said, her laughter subsiding into a soft smile. "That’s very sweet of you to say."
Remo nodded, grateful for Abby’s understanding. "You’re welcome," he replied, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. "I meant every word of it."
Abby smiled warmly at Remo, her eyes sparkling with affection. "You know, you look handsome too. Very handsome."
Remo couldn’t help but smirk at her compliment, feeling a surge of confidence wash over him. "Well, of course," he replied with playful sass. "After all, your husband is quite the dashing man."
Abby chuckled at his playful retort, nodding in agreement. "Yes, he is," she said with a teasing glint in her eye. "Lucky for me."
