Chapter 99: Chapter 99
Having just seen these two, she decided to give everything to Josie.
First, it would clear out the wardrobe, keeping everything out of sight and out of mind. Second, it would be a generous gesture. And third, of course, it would totally annoy Zuri Ginger.
Thinking of this—
Mia Ginger glanced sideways at Zuri Ginger.
Zuri Ginger happened to be looking at her too, silently questioning, "What are you doing?"
"Just giving Josie a few clothes," Mia Ginger said frankly, "What, do you think I’m... being improper? Will Mom be angry?"
Hearing this, Josie Chester, who was sorting through clothes, stiffened a little.
Zuri Ginger was almost about to explode, glaring at her, she said slowly, "How could that be? Josie is Mom’s real niece. I’m just surprised. You’ve given her so many clothes she won’t be able to wear them all summer. I still have some left, which makes it all look too pathetic."
"What’s the difficulty in that," Mia Ginger smiled at her, "You have so much pretty jewelry. Just giving away one would be worth all these clothes."
"You!"
"Hmm?"
"..." Zuri Ginger looked at her furiously, gritting her teeth, "That’s what I thought too."
With those words, she stormed out the door.
Fuming.
Josie subjected them to frequent visits, and she was long since fed up.
Yet there was nothing she could do.
Josie’s personality was irritating; once unhappy, she would make a fuss so loud the whole world would know. Just not going along with her whims, she would exaggerate it into a massive grievance.
One needs face, as trees need bark.
Zuri Ginger cared about her image, completely helpless against shameless Josie.
Not only would she rile up Charlotte, but even her uncle and grandparents would call, accusing her of being stingy.
Thinking of the past, it made Zuri Ginger feel even more depressed.
After all, she had been generous for many years; she couldn’t be overshadowed by Mia Ginger.
With this thought, once Josie followed her to her room, she naturally received many good things, so much so that she was grinning widely by the time she left for home in the afternoon.
Mia Ginger and Zuri Ginger watched the taxi leave.
They both sighed in relief.
Mia Ginger, having encountered such a person for the first time, found it amusing and surprising.
But Zuri Ginger felt she had lost heavily.
It was painful.
Frustrated and angry, she had been sulking the entire day, and now seeing the playful smile on Mia Ginger’s face was even more irritating, her anger boiling over.
She turned her head and angrily scolded, "Satisfied?"
"Not bad," Mia Ginger’s lips curled into a smirk, raising an eyebrow, "It was eye-opening. You are more generous than I imagined."
Zuri Ginger’s hand hung by her side, clenched into a tight fist.
Mia Ginger suddenly recalled Bob Ginger’s words in the chat box.
Her eyes fixed on Zuri Ginger, with a hint of scrutiny.
