Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Return to the Ginger Family (1)
Out of the cemetery.
The rain curtain finally lessened a bit.
Koa Jackson, with one long, fair hand holding the umbrella, lowered his gaze to look at Mia Ginger, pondered slightly, and asked in a low voice, "Where to?"
"The Ginger Family home."
"..." Koa Jackson looked at her without speaking.
Mia Ginger looked up at him, meeting his thoughtful eyes.
"Brother Jackson," she softly called, lowering her head again, and said quietly, "Our engagement is off, you don’t have to be so nice to me."
Koa Jackson didn’t respond.
After a moment, he walked a couple of steps and helped her pull the car door open, watching her get in.
The door panel isolated the inside from the outside.
Mia Ginger rolled down the window, looking deeply at him.
Koa Jackson nodded slightly at her, revealing a faint, gentle smile, then turned around to walk toward his own car.
Mia Ginger slightly lowered her head, lifted the hat, and handed it to Louis Cox.
Little Patten and Zoey Leaf had already gotten in the car, but he stood there with a complex look in his eyes, being washed by the rain as if he was unaware.
"The hat." Mia Ginger tapped his hand with the brim of the hat.
Louis Cox reached out and held her fingers, stubbornly clutching them, gently rubbing.
Mia Ginger’s expression slightly changed, quickly pulling back inside.
Louis Cox used his other hand too, tightly holding her hand with both of his, bent down, and left a cold kiss on her wrist.
"Let go!" Mia Ginger gritted her teeth, warning him with her eyes.
Louis Cox held her wrist, leaned forward, gazed at her for a second, and whispered through clenched teeth, "Mia Ginger, must I show you my heart?"
"Let go." Mia Ginger didn’t expect him to suddenly act crazy, shrank her neck, and turned to dodge.
Mia Ginger seized the chance to push him away and rolled up the car window.
Calming herself, she said to Mason Sutton in front, "Let’s go."
"Okay." Mason Sutton responded, threw a dry towel from the front, and said warmly, "Wipe off the water, I’ll turn on some warm air, and you’ll feel better after taking a shower once we get home."
"Thank you, Brother Sutton." Mia Ginger replied with a smile.
Mason Sutton looked at her through the rearview mirror.
Perhaps due to the rain, the girl’s face in the back seat was exceptionally clean, fair and translucent, like a dewy pink-white rose.
There was a pitiful beauty, charming and pure.
Mason Sutton quietly shifted his gaze away.
Started the car.
Turned on some music, drove all the way toward the Ginger Family home.
——
Three o’clock in the afternoon.
Outside the Ginger Family’s front gate.
Mason Sutton stopped the car, took an umbrella from the trunk.
Opened it, quickly walked to Mia Ginger’s side, tilted the umbrella, and very considerately helped her out of the car.
"I’ll go in by myself." Mia Ginger looked up at him with a smile and said.
It was a busy Monday, and Mason Sutton had to rush back to the office before the end of the day. He didn’t insist, handed her the umbrella, smiled, and said, "Then you take it, I won’t go in."
"No need." Mia Ginger didn’t take it, "It’s just a short distance."
"But still..."
As Mason Sutton was speaking, Mia Ginger had already headed out from under the umbrella, waving at him while walking backward, then turned her head and walked toward the Ginger Family’s villa.
She slowed down after a few steps, lowered her head, unclear what she was thinking.
Mason Sutton stood there for a second, holding the umbrella, watched her slender silhouette fade away in the rain, then lowered his head with a smile, closed the umbrella, and got back in the car.
At this moment——
Mia Ginger stepped up the steps and entered the hall.
